I expected the AB campaigns to be relatively easy, but I didn't expect this jump. Mutare is genuinely capable of obtaining DD and Town Portal on mission 2 only to obliterate everyone on map 4. In a Cove campaign this would be an anarchy. Enemy Geon in the last mission, as one of the lv 30+ bosses, starts with master scholar, first aid, eagle eye and ballistics. To be fair I just beat the entire mission with 2 Crystal Dragons, 2-4 Black Dragons and Mutare Drake. The description makes me remember how simple times were back then. We were learning a lot of things, and we still do. Sometimes a game isn't just about min-maxxing for satisfaction.

The cutscenes and storylines are charming. But please, don't make me run around eternal underground for 5 more hours.

There is a model I've been planing to make long time ago, so the time has come! A new hero model from the Might and Magic universe! The brave warrior Queen Catherine leads the armies of Erathia into battle!

At first, I wanted to create an animation with HoMM 1–3 swordsmen slipping on bananas, but in HoMM2 upgraded swordsman's don't have a full helmet, and HoMM1 has no falling animations.

Ubisoft had the potential to unite the community and make their Steam release of the Complete Edition a major success. What a legendary fumble.

This would have also been in *their* best interest too, seeing as Ubisoft barely has their head above water and are planning to release a full remake of Heroes 3.

Could you imagine how incredible it would have been if Ubisoft collaborated with the HD mod & HotA team and brought us a real "official" HD mod integrated directly into the download of Heroes 3 with an optional HotA launcher? Not to mention how they could have had proper multiplayer servers through Steam, Steam Workshop integration for mods and Steam achievements etc.etc.

Steam has all the tools available, the HD mod team exists, but Ubisoft has NO IDEA how to run their company. What a massive disappointment.

Finally got this pics when the mountains were Green! Not an often experience in the desert.

I thought there used to be a way to tell, unless I’m misremembering.

Right now, it seems like the preview only lets me distinguish Maxi from levels 1–3, but not tell which of levels 1, 2, or 3 it actually is.

For example, I get the screenshot above in the preview, showing:

• 5-9 Green Dragons
• 5-9 Red Dragons
• 1-4 Gold Dragons
• 1-4 Black Dragons

Those ranges seem to fit levels 1-3, so the preview doesn’t narrow it down any further. Only a Maxi, with 5 Black Dragons, would display differently.

Is there some other way to tell whether a Utopia is level 1, 2, or 3 from the preview, or is that only possible from entering it now?

We all know that AI slop is the worst thing you can have while developing almost anything. I really do think AI is a tool that you have to use properly and only to put a base for your work in the future. That's what I did as a thought experiment.

I were trying to recreate Heroes III Black Dragon in 3D using constantly advertised tools on Reddit. First I had to upscale the image and after few prompts I have found a way to upscale the Black Dragon to look kinda like the original. After that I used another tool to create 3D figure and texture it.

I do understand that it's not perfect but it could work as a base for professionals to work with to make it look better. If I could do this within 30 minutes for free I bet Ubisoft can too using proper tools.

I just can't accept how weird some units look like in remaster. It really feels like they created everything from zero in a very limited time.
