Prime Student (Young Adults) verification skipped the 6-month free trial and charged me the discounted $7.49 immediately

I've never had Prime on my account before. After I finished verifying my status, the site didn't show a "Start 6-Month Free Trial" button anywhere. Instead, it showed me a page saying that I've been verified, with a headline for 50% off Prime, listing my card at the bottom with a yellow "Join Prime for Young Adults" button.

I assumed clicking through would complete the setup to get the $0 trial, but it immediately processed a $7.49 (plus tax) monthly Prime subscription charge on my card. Shortly after, I received a confirmation email stating that my next renewal would be in a month at $7.49 (plus tax), showing that it would put me straight onto a paid plan instead of the 6-month trial like advertised.

I contacted Amazon support chat about it and ended up cancelling the subscription and getting a full refund issued for the charge.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Is my Dell Inspiron 7500 2n1 laptop's battery swollen?

I'm just curious if I have to replace the battery or not.

Type H5CKD is the battery.
