Trying to pull (mlx-community/Kimi-K2.6-mlx-DQ3_K_M-q8) but it's just frozen on the downloads page, what gives?

My 512gb Mac Studio can run this monster model, but it just never downloads, what am doing wrong guys? I even generated a token from huggingface, still nothing.....

I couldn't make Deepseek-R1-671b:Q4_K_M run on my Mac Studio M3 Ultra (512gb)

I tried in ollama, tried increase VRAM etc......it just wouldn't load......now i'm going for a distilled model.

Has anyone been able to run Deepseek-R1 671b on M3 ultra with 512gb memory?

Day 8/20 — changing body

My experience so far is that, water fasting leads to changing body, a healthier one. Exercise leads to maintaining a body, totally different game. I think lots of people believe they can change body by a process that only maintains the body, and therefore become depressed. Caloric restriction works with exercise but that’s very unnecessarily and maybe the hardest for the body, water fasting is easy post keto-flu, you get tons of free time and you get to see the weight drop almost everyday and weight drops faster than if you exercise. It’s not to bash exercise, I run and do cardio myself (when not fasting), so I’m not trying to discourage it, but for weight loss it’s really not ideal.

Anyway, just some thoughts of mine.

Day 8 is to be tackled, lost 7 kg in 7 days, pretty happy, but hungry for more weight loss! My start weight was 100 kg, and ideally I should be sub 80 kg, maybe 77-78 kg, that would leave me at a 15% body fat.

Day 6/20

Made delicious quesadillas for the family, cheese, tomato and basil, they loved it, with some salsa dip.
I can now cook food without it triggering me. Did I want to taste? Of course, but that’s what discipline is all about. Just be a we can eat doesn’t mean we should. Many great micro lessons are hidden in prolonged fasting, and I am sure many more will come!

Overall status:

Feeling great.

Motivation is 100%

Energy fluctuates.

1/4 teaspoon gray sea salt/electrolytes twice daily.

Sleep seems deeper now but more hard to fall asleep generally.

Feel cold and need to wear more clothes even though it’s summer here.

Pro tip:
Take some photos of your belly from below the waist when you sit down, that is a motivating sight I can tell you!

Day 5/20

So after my post yesterday I got the ketoflu really bad and had to lay down most of the day, I felt slight throw up in my mouth and stomach acid was really high, I also had to go to the toilet several times. Worst day in terms of bodily comfort.

Today is totally different, I feel so comfortable even though I’m fasting, it’s incredible. Day 5 is the most pleasurable so far.

I took several electrolytes and magnesium on day 4 but asked AI and watched videos, found out they won’t really help the metabolic shift from food to ketones. It makes sense when you think about it, it’s not exactly slight pain, it’s really bad much worse feeling than the general fatigue. Anyway, made it to day 5 and pushing to 20!

Day 4/20

I feel the metabolic heat starting to ramp up, and I feel super weak, however my motivation is solid.

I lay-down whenever my body requires it and when I feel low in energy, usually my body will mobilize energy again in 30 minutes or so and I can get right back on my feet doing things, play with my son etc.

Day 4/20 is really something different from the first 3 days, hunger is gone now, but my desire for food persists, I watch how to make New York style pizza in the Ooni Volt 2 (which I am by the way definitely going to get) but it’s more because pizza is a passion of mine, I’m not triggered by it.

I love lots of unhealthy things, like waffles which my son munched a whole package of today with milk, looked delicious, but 0 for me 😁

I feel pretty motivated and locked in.

Hi everybody, I’m 32m 187cm tall, my body has reached 100 kg, I’ve got what seems to be chronic inflammation in my legs resulting in red bumps (keratosis pilaris) also called chicken-skin, God I’m tired of those, I’ve tried acisylic-cures and washes but nonetheless it remains. I can’t fit my pants and basically all t-shirts bulge out on my belly. I also noticed some eye-floaters last week. I’m so done with this body.

I have experience doing a 6 day water fast, and I have done plenty 72hrs and 120hrs fasts. But now I need to change things up, also the fear of going diabetic is really haunting as my father just passed away because he ignored his diabetes. I tried telling him to fast and keep to water only, but it didn’t help, and now I find myself overweight, not in the same degree but more than I’m comfortable with, so now is the time for all your good advice, all your inputs will help me a lot I’m sure of it.
