Still very pre-alpha, but we hit 5 players online at once a few days ago. We are a small, talented core team building an MMO-lite experience in Oblivion with ReadyM. There is still a mountain of work ahead, so anyone who wants to help is very welcome. Coding, modelling, writing, testing, all of it.

Looking for people interested in building an MMO-lite experience for Oblivion Remastered

Hi everyone,

Our vision is to build a persistent MMO-style multiplayer experience for Oblivion Remastered.

The technical foundation for this project would be ReadyM's OblivionMP framework, which already makes multiplayer in Oblivion Remastered possible. Rather than reinventing the wheel, the idea is to build systems and content on top of that foundation (It is very similar to FiveM in GTA 5).

Instead of creating a traditional RP server, we'd like to create a world that feels closer to a modern online RPG while preserving everything that makes Oblivion special. Players should be able to explore Cyrodiil together, tackle challenging content, develop their characters over time, and become part of a living community.

Some ideas we'd love to explore include:

  • Instanced dungeons with unique mechanics and cooperative boss encounters.
  • Instanced player housing
  • A dedicated PvP arena
  • Custom quests and storylines that expand beyond the original game.
  • MMO-inspired progression systems with long-term goals.
  • Community events and seasonal content to keep the world feeling alive.

The long-term goal is to create a persistent multiplayer world that feels like a natural evolution of Oblivion rather than simply adding multiplayer to the base game.

Naturally, a project of this scale can't be built by one person.

We are looking for people who share this vision, whether you're a:

  • Gameplay programmer
  • C++ or Unreal Engine developer
  • Quest or narrative designer
  • Level designer
  • 3D artist or animator
  • UI/UX designer
  • Technical artist
  • Community manager
  • Or simply someone with experience creating ambitious Elder Scrolls mods.

At this stage, We are mainly trying to find out whether there's enough interest to assemble a team. If this sounds like a project you'd enjoy contributing to, or if you'd simply like to discuss ideas, We'd love to hear from you.
