How have I turned into a vampire?!

Okay so first of all I’m new to oblivion, I’ve just got to the city Skingrad, and I’ve done a few things here and there and I went to the castle and the count didn’t wanna see me okay fine so I thought right, I’ll head to an inn, sleep and next session I’ll head to the city of Kvatch! So this inn, had Else the God-hater which was a fun chat lol and when I asked the lady for a bed it was 20 gold! Which is unusual as every other bed I’ve had is 10 so I thought damn you, went to the room, it does have a nice bed I’ll give it that, that and a cuck chair. But when went to sleep, for 17 hours, I only slept for 1 clearly I had a nightmare as I woke up screaming, it was about a figure in the night and sinks her fangs into this sleeping man and that figure is ME!?!? How did I get that?!? Why did I get that?!? What’s gonna happen!?! I’m scaaaared

Magicka

Hey guys!

I'm pretty new to Oblivion as well to the original and the remastered. I'm basicly playing as a battlemage. My conjuration is at max. So is my inteligence. Yet i only have about 300 magicka. Hiw do I increase it furthermore (preferably whithout potions, and consumables)

Clouds Flickering In Sky Bug HELP

Just recently installed the remaster again and everything is running perfectly with Lumen Begone and Ultimate Engine Tweaks. Although I ran into the issue of clouds disappearing and reappearing in the sky. Ive tried turning off G-Sync, changing global illumination to low, changing screen space reflections. Had mods with mod organizer 2 and tried disabling all, still happened. Not sure what is causing this.

Specs:
RTX 5060
AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d
32 DDR4 RAM
Running on SSD

They are still promoting this game on XBOX homepage

It’s been almost a year since Patch 1.2 dropped in July 2025, and we have had absolutely zero communication from Bethesda or Virtuos. No roadmaps, no hotfixes, and complete radio silence.

Let’s face it: this game is abandonware.

They shadow-dropped it, made a quick buck off our collective nostalgia, and dipped. The game is still completely broken

Shield with claymore?

So I never played the original oblivion back in the day, played Skyrim on every console essentially. Just picked up the oblivion remaster. Is it a feature or a bug that I have a shield equipped while using a claymore?

Sometimes it shows the shield while swinging and sometimes it doesn't. But it's equipped lol.

Are autosave and quicksave safe?

Skyrim play is best with them turned off and I presume such is the case for Oblivion. But does the remaster fix it? Should I turn them off or leave them on and keep using quicksave?

Just recently installed the remaster again and everything is running perfectly with Lumen Begone and Ultimate Engine Tweaks. Although I ran into the issue of clouds disappearing and reappearing in the sky. Ive tried turning off G-Sync, changing global illumination to low, changing screen space reflections, and even turning my Ayleid Reshade off. Not sure what is causing this. In the video you can see how it doesn't happen with cloudy weather, but when its clear you can see the bug.

Asking for a moratorium on “are we getting Creations” questions

This is moreso about the fact that anybody who knows what a Creation is, plays this game, and has a Reddit *account* to make posts has all the tools to find out that it is not likely and has been asked repeatedly.

I would love it, hell I would love to see the technical aspect of that working. Instead of finding a reason to foster the hate for game developers (which I think the Reddit and Twitter algorithms have fueled heavily), let’s just accept that not every wish comes true. It is far, faaaaaaaar from the worst experience that Bethesda isn’t likely to bring the Creation Kit or Creations to Oblivion RE.

Cleric Playthrough: Western female Nord or Colovian Male Imperial?

For another playthrough after the paladin one I want to be a cleric who fights with bow and arrow or hand to hand from either Western Skyrim or Colovian Cyrodiil. Like before one character build is male and the other female but this time their major skills are picked exactly the same. How do you like these builds and which character would you choose to play?

If you could pursue romance as the Hero of Kvatch who in Cyrodiil or the Shivering Isles would you want as a partner?

For my female character it would have to be daddy Oreyn from the Fighter’s Guild in Chorrol. As a male I would try to charm the recently widowed Dralora after slaying her cultist Mythic Dawn agent husband. Moving into her house in the Imperial City and having her watch my arena fights on the weekends sounds really good. Which characters can you think of?
