Am I the only one who doesn’t like this?

Am I the only one who doesn’t like this?

I don’t like the way my character glows when I wear enchanted armor or anything entchanted like rings. Is there a way to change that?

This game is beautiful

This is the first time taking a screenshot in this game, this view made me realise the opportunities I've been missing. This is after just exiting the courtyard at Castle Skingrad.

Is stealth archer truly the meta or is it a meme?

I'm wondering about it because I usually go for a mage oriented build, but it felt quite boring in Skyrim for what little I played. And I keep finding people claiming all roads lead to stealth archer anyway. Is that true?

Oblivion Remastered Save Bug PSA

I was 15 hours into oblivion remastered and then fast traveled to hackdirt to do some m*rder to get into the dark brotherhood. After fighting several brethren the game crashed and then any time I tried to restart it all save files were gone and choosing the continue option then crashes the game ever time. No amount of restarting the game or console fixes the issue.

Pros and cons to completing the main story first thing?

Played the remaster on release, purposely avoided the main story. I want to do another playthrough but still not sure I want to do the main story lol, once I permanently close the gates are there any lasting damages or anything?

I’m pretty enchanted by Oblivion Remastered. Especially when the stars are out. Wow.

PSA: turning off HDR output in the system settings helps with the frame rate drops quite a bit. But the music, vibes, and views make me forgive all the performance issues. Do I wish they weren’t there? Sure. But would I rather deal with them than not have the game at all? Most definitely.

Something about Oblivion always resonated with me, all the way back when I first played on PS3. Skyrim was fantastic, but I can’t help but feel that Oblivion was just the right scale to keep me engrossed. I’ve tried replaying Skyrim multiple times, and the long treks just wear me down. I feel Oblivion struck just the right chord of conveniently sized while still having a sense of epic scale. I love that the tower is the centerpiece that everything revolves around, and all the views you can get of it always get me to pause and take it in.

The eternally recognizable voices and quests are reborn like I’m living a daydream I’ve been having for the last 20 years. Everything is so familiar yet enhanced just enough to make it all exciting and new again, but with this feeling of returning to a favorite country I visited long ago.

But the thing that this Remaster really does absolutely fantastically is the night sky. Good lord. I’m mesmerized by the ‘milky way’ of stars, and absolutely love the two moons. This game really comes to life for me at night, so much so that I prefer wandering the towns and wilderness during the night. I truly feel born under the sign of the thief in this game. Utterly wonderful stuff.

I played Oblivion first back in college, and I play it now as a parent, and the portability is exactly what I needed. The fact that it looks as pretty as it does is just an added perk. Of course people hate that it doesn’t perform well, but one must wonder if it’s a game that is even capable of performing well, since it’s built upon a core that was pushing the boundaries back when it was created. I can imagine this thing is held together by spit and bubblegum. Would it be great if they rebuilt it from the ground up? Yes. But would it still have that unmistakeable charm? I kinda doubt it.

I’m absolutely loving my revisit to Cyrodiil. This game is exactly what I needed it to be. Sorry to those who can’t enjoy it, or refuse to support it. I suppose I’m grateful that it was made for me, someone who always wanted to revisit, but knew the PS3 disc wouldn’t hold up…and someone who adores the stars.

Why is this game special to you? Share your story.

Ive played the original since launch and always come back to this game. I prefer it over Skyrim most of the time. I was playing last night and was wondering what is the draw and appeal of this game? Is it Nostalgia? is it modern games going too far away from standard western RPG formulas? Is it the lovable Bethesda jank? There are many RPGs that arguably do things better but this game is still preferred for me.

Tell me your stories and reasons this game keeps you coming back.

Nintendo Switch 2 - Mankar not spawning in Paradise... (WARNING! For the love of God, don't try to kill him in Dagon Shine!!)

So, when I saw Mankar back in "Dagon Shine" I tried to snipe him with my bow. He did not die, but he also did not enter the portal to Paradise.. Fast forward 15 hours of playing, and I am in Paradise looking to kill him. But guess what, his throne is empty and he is nowhere to be found... I start googling, and this glitch has been present for 20 years. Why in the world did they not fix it in the remaster? Now I have to start over from the beginning of the game..

Hunting deer off the gold road

Decided to walk from Chorrel to Leyawiin to gather ingredients and started seeing a lot of deer. it kinda reminded me of early wow playing a wood elf ranger. I'm level 5 playing a ranger/thief.

wanting some advice on the sw2 horse tall glitch

ever since i got the game on switch 2, i started noticing that whenever i played as my altmer character and i rode my horse i would come off of it like two feet taller. ive looked up fixes and have used them multiple times but it is unending. i really dont want to have to exit the game and reload everytime i use my horse (i dont fast travel so that is a lot of the time), should i just exist as the tallest elf in existence or is there a more permanent fix / do you guys think itll be patched in the upcoming patch?

Does anyone know if max armor skill still leaves you with 95% spell effectiveness?

Cause i know they changed some things, but im unsure about having max skill in one of the armor skills, the original capped at 95% effectiveness, but foes the remaster? Honestly i assume so but im not 100% sure.

Edit: removed welkynd stone price point cause i just realized that wasn't from the base game, my bad.

Really enjoying playing this on a handheld (Switch 2)

I finished the game on PC but something about playing it while in bed makes me so happy

For those that have finished the NS2 version, is it worth it as a full experience?

I'm asking because most reviewers I've seen show only early game footage. But how does it run until the very end? My understanding is that on PS5 (which I also have) the framerate degrades with time.

Tbh at this point all versions run choppily, so the resolution itself doesn't bother me much and the NS2 version is portable and has mouse controls.

But as much as I've seen reviews from people that love it I've also seen reviews of people that despise it, so I trust more the opinion if players that have actually finished the game.

This would be my first TES game btw (I did play Skyrim a bit but the camera gave me motion sickness).

Anyone know who this statue is and if its part of a quest?

Found a statue that I don’t remember being in the original. Has a podium and seats around it like a deadric statue but can’t interact with it. Excuse the quality of the photo, took a picture of my switch 2.
