Works for a man?

This pendant was part of a set for women at the jewelry store. I really liked it so I grabbed it paired it with my 2mm dc franco.

Is this emerald real?

Hi I got this pendant as a gift. The store said it’s a lab emerald. It’s 8*10mm oval cut, set in 14k gold.
Do you think it’s a real emerald or cz/glass?

Also, if it’s real, can you see if it’s hydrothermal or something else?
