Best way to raise a child on low income?

I'm a bar manager and take home 55k a year, get by with 3 to 4 roommates depending on the time of year. My girlfriend of 2 years is pregnant and we want to keep it for our own reasons. She takes home around what I do and is also about to start going to school for design. She has 2 roommates. We refuse to leave the city. What do we do? Everyone is telling us we are selfish

We do not care if you cant afford rent

Please stop posting your sob stories in this sub. I'm here to find out why the police are on the block or what DJ events are happening. If you can't afford rent as a Barista then move back to Philly because we dont want or need you here. Thank you.

Changing Jobs Early On

After graduating last year (even though I'm 32) I've been with my company working compliance for a little over a year. It is in environmental consulting. You are expected to be on nonstop with each hour of every day being logged. I am driving 400+ miles a week driving company vehicles to sites over a major metropolitan area. We do very low level projects so you are expected to be working on dozens at a time. I frequently have to shovel out drain ditches and clean clogged baskets. 55k a year. How can I improve my situation and escape this? Do things get better elsewhere? Is it too early to leave and will i find somewhere else? The driving alone is driving me insane.

I make 85k a year. I'm broke.

I went to school, I got a job. I have 6k in credit debt and 43k in student loans. I cant afford to exist here. So many people in this city DO NOT WORK. IT IS THEIR PLAYGROUND FOR MAKING MILLIONS ON SOCIAL MEDIA. I am being pushed out and do not know what to do. I am becoming poorer while the rich dance on my suffering across the city.

Should I take a job at 80k a year

I have a chance to take on a job in NYC for 80-85k a year starting out, but everyone I know is telling me I'll be living in poverty. A friend of mine who moved there 7 years ago explained that the city is essentially a playground for the rich while most people have to squat to afford rent. Is this true? Can I live off 85k a year?
