Short term furnished rental

Ok so I’m back for those who helped me about 3 weeks ago. I was looking for a single apartment for about 1000-1300 in North Scottsdale/Old Town and was quickly bombarded with comments about how unrealistic that is.

I now have a roommate I am searching for and I’m wondering if that makes things much easier. We are trying to stay under 2400$ a month for a 2bd apartment. Parking included and ideally furnished in the same area. The further north the better. Grayhawk area would be ideal.

The kicker is the increased short term lease for us. Anyone know of some nice places that work with you on a short term lease. We need a 7 month lease from October 15th to May 15th

I understand people like to get on edge when someone asks for something that might be unrealistic but I really don’t know? I’m used to paying 400$ for rent in Iowa so take it easy on me.

Young graduate - no idea what to do with my money

Hello - I am a 22M and just graduated from college. I work as a caddie in the summer and referee in the winters. Since I’ve gone to school in years past I’ve never made enough money to worry about taxes or investing (and get paid in cash).

Recently I have graduated and will now caddie year
round going back and fourth from Minnesota to Arizona for about a 5/7 month split. I estimate I will make somewhere around 70-90k if I do pretty well… and my expenses are around 30-40k after rent and stuff. So here are the questions I want advice on.

What kind of investing should I do with my extra money?

Am I eligible to do a Roth IRA if I don’t have any tax record?

What kind of stocks and accounts should I dump my savings into?

This might all sound silly but I never learned about this stuff in school so take it easy on me. Anything helps.

Looking for place to stay for 6 months - Will be down for winter as a Caddie

Looking for Apartment Recommendations Near Old Town Scottsdale - $1,200–$1,400 Budget before Utilities

Hey everyone! I'm moving to Scottsdale this November and could use some advice from people who know the area.

I'm looking for either a studio or a 1-bedroom apartment with a budget of around $1,200–$1,400/month. My biggest priority is being within walking distance (or as close as possible) to Old Town Scottsdale. I'd love to be able to walk to the bars, restaurants, and nightlife and be around a younger crowd, while still only being about 20–25 minutes from work, which is North Scottsdale (Will take Loop 101)

I'm planning to be there from November through April, so if anyone knows of apartments that are more flexible with lease terms, that's a let me know. I have done tons of looking and nothing sticks out. I am wondering if maybe theres so stuff that some of you have done to get what you want, like calling the place and asking if that can be revoked.

A few questions:

  • Are there any apartment communities you'd recommend in my price range?
  • Are there places I should avoid?
  • Has anyone had success negotiating rent, asking for move-in specials, or calling the leasing office for better pricing than what's listed online?
  • Are there any hidden gems that don't show up at the top of apartment websites?
  • Should I look for a roommate or something?

I'd really appreciate any recommendations or tips. Thanks in advance!
