Hey! I (17f) got diagnosed with AMPS this year in April and started showing symptoms last year around this time of year last year. I've been doing martial arts since I was 6.

Sparring and groundwork is difficult for me, but my instructors and classmates are very understanding and are patient when I need to take small breaks or slow down a bit.

Last year in July, I competed in my first tournament (silver medal!!) despite the pain. As much as I wanted to go back this year, I couldn't because of it, which sucks, but I can always try again next tournament.

Since I've been here for so long, and my personality, I'm seen as an honorary leader/instructor and help out newer students a lot. I try my best but some days it's really hard to do this and can only hope I won't get bad reactions when I tell them why I'm struggling or sitting out during sparring a certain day (I'm very open with talking about my condition) despite being fine the previous class.

I usually take Tylenol before classes, put on KT tape, and occasionally drink electrolytes during class along with come early so I can stretch more before class begins.

Just wondering, are there any other athletes/martial artists with fibro/AMPS here? I want to know how you handle it and other stories :)
Sorry for the bad quality, but it was really small. Found it inside and I'm not sure if it's something to be worried about.
I'm just paranoid because my Abuelita mentioned rumors of her work place having a bed bug issue and now I'm overthinking everything 🫠
