Declined final interviews with 2 clients to accept an offer where I quit after a week

In short, nganga tuloy ako and kinda nanghihinayang for declining the other final stage interviews. Lesson learned, sana I went through na muna and wag muna mag-decline pag di pa sure if okay na ang offer in reality.

Anyway, since masipag naman lola nyo, after resting for 4 hours, went back again searching for opportunities and today got 2 interviews lined up. Job dust sa ating lahat.

Salonpas ng Vietnam

So eto na nga, aging is catching up. Due to bad sleeping positions last week, inatake na ng neck sprain and kwarentahin na lakwatsera. I went to a pharmacy dito sa Hanoi looking for Salonpas, wala daw sila so eto ni recommend, Osama Cico, nasa 25,000 VND (around $1 Usd) each pack, may two stickers inside. 😅

Tbh, first time ako nakagamit ng Salonpas last month lang at funny pa kasi yung GenZ kong bunso ang nagrecommend sa akin. Super taka ako kasi sabi why are you using that?! Di ba pang-lola lang yan?! 🤣

Ending, need ko na pala talaga huhu. 😅

Tinatamad na magtravel solo

Napapansin ko lang na parang tinatamad na ako magtravel lalo na solo. Gusto ko na lang may magkarga sa akin from point A to B if ever magtravel. 😅

Also tamad na din ako magdrive, mas prefer ko na lang magride hail. I think last ako nagdrive 3 yrs ago na.

Ako lang ba ito or sign of ageing na eto.

Nahanap ko sa LinkedIn yung Afam na nakasabay ko sa ferry 30yrs ago

Way back nung 90s college days, since umuuwi ako ng province during sembreak may mga times na I took the ferry to go home. One time, may nakasabay akong afam (foreign guy) sa ferry, which was uncommon pa that time.

So yun usap konti. Di sya yung matangkad na usual foreigner height. Maliit sya mga 5'7" lang siguro. Di naman ako attracted sa kanya kasi may bf din ako that time pero para alis boredom kinausap ko naman. At the end of the convo, binigyan nya ako ng calling card kaya di ko talaga nakalimutan yung full name nya, also kasi nakalagay din sa card na Fullbright scholar sya.

So eto na nga bigla ko lang syang naalala tonight out of the blue, imagine 30yrs after. 😂

Nag-Google search naman ang lola nyo, so nahanap ko naman LinkedIn nya, buhay pa sya! President na sya ng isang software company sa country nya. So ako naman para kunyari networking kineme, nagsend ako ng connect.

Yun lang. Di ko alam ba't ko sya naalala bigla. Sign of ageing na ba eto. 😅

Any experience with SmileandHire VA?

Anyone who got hired by them? Any feedback? Any experience.

They ask for government documents without hiring a person first. No other companies do this.

It is something that's not good on my book cause unless it's for a sure contract already, why would a company want a government document. In the age of AI, those are easy to scam and info sold to anyone.

Anyone else working there?

PSA lang, I regularly receive these types of emails. I don't even remember applying for these roles. To avoid falling for these scums/sc@ms.

  1. Always check the sender's email if legit, they will use Gmail or other free emails or will use same sound ng company email but if you check clearly, may papalitan silang isang letter, just to make it appear na legit yung email.

  2. They will use legit names of company HR people or CEO to make it sound legit.

  3. Rates are too good to be true, what do you mean $45/hr for an entry role. 😅

  4. They will use the company's real website link, nilalagay nila para kunyari legit pagni-click mo. Or worst, fake/copy lang ng legit company website and they will get all your details para gamitin pang-scam sa iba.

  5. Pansin ko lang pag MS Teams na may project code pa na eme yung mga di legit based on experience. I notice pag legit na company they will use either Zoom or Google Meet (based on experience ko lang to ha) . Wala pa akong na-experience na MS Teams ginamit sa interview na naging legit or maybe it's just my experience? Kaya pag ito gamit nila, red flag sa akin ng slight and it means I need to be careful and do more due diligence. But legit company use MS Teams too, so just do your legit check matindi para iwas mabudol. *edited

  6. They will ask for ID or any official document to verify kuno. Never believe that unless may contract ka na. Even a contract can be easily faked. So do your due diligence.

I found out way back 2024 pa, then as I was searching for stuff via AI about authors and their early life, naalala ko si ex na isang New York Times Best-selling author, so ayan nga sinabi ni Claude, so memories came back. Kasalanan din naman nya why I ghosted him.

Anyway, at our age, madami na din ba sa exes nyo ang sumakabilang buhay na? Or ako lang kasi mahilig ako sa 20-30+ years gap.

Nagkaka-memory gap na ba kayo? There's also such a thing as early onset dementia although this can come even earlier. Then there's brain fog as a premenopausal symptom. Then there's also memory loss caused by mental health issues (Adhd, etc) .

I am no doctor but have noticed a difference in my memory compared when I was younger, nothing significant to cause alarm. Like I'd go into a room and wonder ano nga ba reason andito ako? 😅
