New to the e-moto/e-bike world. What brands/models should I actually be looking for?

Originally I started this adventure just looking for an e-bike to ride around trails, woods, and fields around my property.

Now after going down the rabbit hole, I’m starting to think I probably want more of an e-moto/e-dirtbike style setup instead.

Problem is… I have no idea what brands/models are actually decent and what’s junk. I keep seeing all kinds of stuff pop up on Facebook Marketplace around me and I don’t know what’s worth considering.

Budget is around $1500-ish.

Main use would be:
• woods/trails
• fields
• hills
• rough terrain
• riding around my property
• eventually riding with my son while he’s on his little 50cc dirt bike

I’m in Western PA so there are a lot of hills and muddy/rooty trails around here.

So far I’ve looked at:
• Philodo Falcon
• Freego X2 Pro
• Eskute Nova X

But I’m definitely open to other suggestions if there are better options in this price range, especially used.

I’m 5’10” and about 180lb if that matters.

Basically just trying to figure out:
• what brands are decent
• what brands to avoid
• what models are considered solid beginner bikes
• and what gives the best fun-per-dollar around this budget

AR9 owners: 3-lug, Plan B, or direct thread?

Right now I have a pretty typical pistol/PCC setup where I use a booster on pistols and a fixed barrel spacer/lockout on PCCs, and I swap the can around between hosts using direct thread (just running a thread protector when shooting unsuppressed).

Now I want to start running the can on my AR9 too, but I also shoot the AR9 unsuppressed pretty often and don’t really want to leave it with a naked threaded barrel all the time.

So what do most people end up doing on AR9s?

• 3-lug?
• flash hider + Plan B/taper mount setup?
• direct thread and just deal with it?

My issue is if I go 3-lug or Plan B on the AR9, then the suppressor almost becomes a dedicated PCC/AR9 can since I can’t really use that same setup on pistols anymore.

Trying to figure out what makes the most sense long term and what you guys actually ended up doing with your AR9 setups.

Alright… I went down the rabbit hole again on TSFX + AI Nano/RF1 vs Ti ODB setups.

Originally I was planning to run my Ti ODB direct thread, but I’ve decided to switch to a QD system instead. I’ve been looking at Plan B and TSFX, and the more I read about TSFX + AI Nano, the more I’m seeing mixed opinions on how much it actually affects performance on the ODB.

My main questions:

- On a short barrel semi-auto .300 BLK host, does the AI Nano actually make a noticeable difference?

- How does TSFX + RF1 compare in that same role?

- What about on a longer setup like a .300 BLK bolt gun?

- Is there a meaningful difference between TSFX + AI Nano vs TSFX + RF1 vs something like a Rearden Atlas + AVG or Comstock RPA + micro brake?

At this point I’m pretty set on going QD, just trying to understand what’s actually worth it vs what’s negligible for the average shooter.

This is starting to drive me nuts… am I overthinking this or are these differences actually noticeable without side-by-side testing?

Appreciate any firsthand experience.

Picking up my OBD this weekend and trying to decide on QD & muzzle devices. Wanted to get some input.

I went pretty deep down the rabbit hole yesterday/last night looking into muzzle devices, hub adapters, etc. Originally I was planning on running the Comstock recessed muzzle device and adapter (since I can get the can pretty tight to my hand guard with their recessed options), but I can’t find them in stock anywhere. After reading more about the TSF X, I’m leaning that direction instead.

From what I can tell, these three seem like the main options that’ll work with the OBD: AI RF1, AI RB1, and AI Nano

At this point, is it mostly just personal preference between these? I don’t really plan on shooting unsuppressed much

Hosts will be: Short 300 Blackout AR pistol & 16” 300 blackout bolt action rifle

Appreciate any insight 👍

Edit: just found the QD support post - didn’t realize how many places were making these TSFX style devices. Now I have to do even more research. Any OBD owners out there, feel free to tell me what QD devices you’re using!

Picking up my CAT ODB this Saturday. It’s approved, just been out of town.

I ordered the HUB version that comes with the direct thread adapter, but I’m trying to figure out what mounting setup actually makes the most sense.

Right now I only have one host, a short 300 blackout AR. I do plan to either buy or build a 300 blackout bolt gun at some point, something similar to the Q Fix rifle.

I don’t really plan on shooting either gun unsuppressed, so I’m wondering if I should just stick with direct thread, or if there’s still a good reason to go QD.

If I do go QD, I’ve been looking at TSF X vs Plan B setups. Then I get stuck again deciding between a mini brake or flash hider. I’ve read a lot about TSF X + AI Nano, but I also see CAT offers (and recommended) the AI RF1.

I’ll be honest, I don’t really understand what QD systems actually add beyond just quicker on/off, so I’m probably missing some pros and cons.

Would really appreciate any recommendations or insight, especially from people running similar setups.
