What are your favorite Batman/Superman stories besides Waid and Loeb?

I’ve been on a huge Batman/Superman kick lately.
I know Mark Waid’s World’s Finest is the obvious recommendation, so no need to mention that one. Same goes for Jeph Loeb’s Batman/Superman.
What are some other great runs? Is the New 52 Batman/Superman worth reading? Maybe the 2019 series? What do you guys suggest?

Does Detective Comics (2011) #27 “The Case of the Chemical Syndicate” contradict Batman: Zero Year?

Is “The Case of the Chemical Syndicate” meant to be part of New 52 continuity, or is it more of a standalone homage to the original Detective Comics #27? If it is canon, how do you reconcile it with Zero Year?

Is Dick really 10 years old in Batman and Robin: Year One? I think I might prefer the slightly older ages used for the Robins in the New 52.

To be clear, I’m not talking about the “Batman had four Robins in five years” timeline. I always thought that was a pretty stupid compression of the Batman timeline. Also not talking about the quality of the story.

I’m specifically talking about Dick’s starting age. Do you think Mark Waid made him too young in this interpretation? Which version do you prefer and why?

With the end of Batman and Robin (2023 - 2026), are we getting a third Batman ongoing soon?

With Batman and Robin wrapping up, has there been any news about DC launching a third ongoing Batman title?

I thought we were gonna get something tied to Next Level, but nothing so far.

Has there ever been a retelling of Batman’s first encounter with Solomon Grundy?

We have stories like Batman: The Man Who Laughs for the Joker and Batman: Four of a Kind for several early villain encounters, but has DC ever done a dedicated retelling of Batman’s first meeting with Solomon Grundy?

I reread Batman: The Long Halloween recently, and Grundy’s appearance didn’t feel like their first encounter. Is TLH supposed to be their first canonical meeting, or is there another story that covers it?

What are your favorite 2000s Legends of the Dark Knight arcs?

We all know the most iconic arcs from Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight; Shaman, Gothic, Venom, Prey, etc. Those are usually the stories people bring up when talking about the peak of the series in the 90s.

But the title kept going well into the 2000s, and I feel like a lot of those later arcs are really overlooked.

What are your favorite Legends of the Dark Knight arcs from the 2000s era? Any hidden gems, underrated arcs, or stories you think deserve way more attention?

Alfred Staying Dead Is Good for Batman and Comics

I honestly think Alfred should stay dead for as long as DC can possibly commit to it.

One of the biggest criticisms of comics is that death never matters because characters always come back eventually. Alfred being gone for this long (around 7 years) is one of the few examples of the story actually sticking to a major consequence.

And Batman has so many titles set earlier in the continuity, like Batman: Dark Patterns and Batman and Robin: Year One, just to name recent examples. Those books are constantly coming out. So it’s not like we never see Alfred in comics. Keeping him dead in the main continuity just gives his death actual weight.

Harvey + McKillen sisters still canon?

With all the continuity changes over the years, is the whole Harvey Dent / McKillen sisters storyline still canon in current Batman continuity?
