Electrical Help! 2005 model

2005 ABS model— first photo shows the infamous stator output connector (today). Last photo shows how it looked two months ago (3,000km). I got the SH847 kit from roadstercycle and will be installing it today but I’m not very experienced with electrical work. I’m planning to solder and use heat shrink on every connection I do. All tips and tricks are appreciated.

My biggest question is the connector in photo 2 that looks cooked as well. It’s the connector right by the battery. Is there anything I can/should do with it while I’m doing electrical things?

I have a big road trip around Vancouver island for a week starting tomorrow so this all needs to happen today 😅

Thanks for all input!!

Sunshine Coast, BC 2 up

About 700km over 3 days testing the luggage kit. Went all the way up to Lund and back to Vancouver BC

Touring ready! 122L storage

So close to completing the touring build. Luggage is all done, just need to lower the front pegs and upgrade the r/r before I go for big trips. I’ll be doing a three day adventure up the BC Sunshine Coast this weekend

2005 R/R advice

Bike just passed 31,000 kms. I pulled off the fairing for the first time to check on the R/R because I’m planning some remote road trips and can’t afford to be stranded. It looks like this is the OEM stator as the serial number is SH689FA. Seems to be working fine right now, I tested the battery voltage holding revs at 5k rpm and it never went past 14V and never dipped below 13.6V. Very steady voltage. Of course I’ve heard this is a time bomb so I’m looking for advice:
-are there certain connectors I should examine?
-if everything looks fine would it be good enough to add a volt meter to my gauge cluster and not replace the R/R yet?
-assuming I should go ahead and replace it anyway as a preventative measure, which R/R kit is the best? I’m happy to splice and move it somewhere else, just a bit out of my depth with electrical work.
-I had to drill out the bottom two M5 fairing bolts as they were spinning the brass/rubber well nut and I couldn’t get them out. Now I need to find the brass well nut to replace it. Any ideas where to buy that part affordably? I’m in Canada.

Thanks for any and all help!!
