Is WWE trying to get Cody hated?

The general consensus most fans have is that Cody’s heel who believes he’s good character in AEW was amazing. Is that what WWE is trying to emulate?

I mean why would they unnecessarily feed fan favourites like Drew and Sami to Cody, acknowledge the mixed reactions to Cody beating Drew? They’ve also continuously referenced the Homelander similarities and atop that they keep making Cody this ruthless guy in his matches who’s not afraid of cheating or anything like that.

I mean if so feeding Drew definitely helped and Sami getting beat by Cody immediately might be the final nail in the coffin.

HOT TAKE: Sami losing to Cody COULD work

I know nobody wants Sami to lose but it’s quite obvious he’s losing at Raw.

The ONLY way this can work is if Gunther costs Sami the match and the two have their own separate program while Punk hopefully takes the title off of Cody. The reason why I think it’s actually alright is so long as Sami’s loss results in a proper face turn and a redemption match at Mania against Punk.

It can work especially well since it keeps Cody away from the title, Punk vs Roman rematch in Saudi. CM Punk can turn heel and Punk can put over Sami at Mania for a much bigger title win.

Or they can bamboozle us and still give us Cody vs Punk except Sami doesn’t lose the title for it and he has a proper reign. Either way they can make something bad extremely good.

What if CM Punk stayed in AEW?

So for this I’m essentially continuing right from when Punk was fired and the Devil storyline began.

Full Gear 2023: MJF vs Jay White goes down as normal, MJF opted put of the match, was replaced by Adam Cole only to be added back and beat Jay White. The only exception is that MJF 2v1ed again this PPV rather than teaming with Samoa Joe.

The match ends and many of the Devil’s disciples storm the ring and begin beating down MJF and Adam Cole until the Devil walks out to the ring. He enters and doesn’t do anything simply stares at MJF before taking off his mask to reveal CM Punk. AEW immediately cuts transmission and security drags CM Punk out.

Dynamite after Full Gear: the commentary team never talks about Punk’s appearance, everyone pretends like it never happened.

Mid show: FTR go to the guerilla and stare down Tomy and simply say “You’ve seen what happens when the Devil wants something, and the Devil always gets what he wants. Bring. Him. Back.” clearly intimidating Tony.

After the main event is over, Tony makes a last minute announcement and (in a recreation of his firing of CM Punk annouoncement) “Today I had to make the most difficult decision of my professional career, with a lot of pressure being forced on the AEW staff and locker room that has been abundantly clear since Full Gear, really before that I’m damned if I do and damned if I don’t oblige. I am being forced to reinstate Phil Brooks or CM Punk’s AEW contract, I hope I don’t regret this later. Punk will be present this Saturday at Collision and will be closely monitored.”

The following Collision: CM Punk comes out with 4 masked men which are presumably his disciples.

He doesn’t say much but makes it clear that he has his eyes on MJF. He introduces 2 of the masked men as FTR, a third unmasks himself to be revealed as Wardlow who claims Punk saved him from Max. The 4th stays unmasked, CM Punk pulls him closer to the camera and says “You stupid, stupid little boy. I’m a snake. The greatest thing the Devil ever did was making people think he doesn’t exist” as he unmasks him to reveal Jack Perry.

I don’t have many other cool moments really, just that CM Punk vs MJF at World’s End with Punk unifying the Real World and AEW world heavyweight championships.

MJF and The Elite vs CM Punk and his cult.

CM Punk vs MJF rematch, Punk shockingly retains.

Punk vs Kenny Omega at All In, Darby helps Punk retain.

Punk vs Darby at All Out where Darby beats Punk.

I guess he could turn face afterwards or just be involved in more faction warfare. LMK id there’s any other fantasy decisions to make.

Random predictions

Jey wins KOTR, Gunther wins UUC and we get Jey cs Gunther at SS.

Roman vs Seth at SS, Roman retains.

Cody wins MITB

WM43 Roman vs Rock or Oba, if it’s Rock and he takes the title off of Roman then Cody is cashing in on him. If it’s Oba then he’s winning it and keeping it.

The other main event is gonna be Gunther vs Punk or Seth or Oba if Rock isn’t there, Gunther likely retains and Cody cashes in if he isn’t facing Oba.

I hate everything.

Rebooking Randy vs Cody.

Elimination Chamber 2026: Randy Orton pins Cody Rhodes to win the chamber match and earns a title shot at WrestleMania 42.

Smackdown March 6th: Cody beats Drew for the undisputed championship.

Smackdown March 13th: Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes meet face to face for their contract signing. Randy expresses his worry and hesitation over facing his friend at WrestleMania, Cody reassures him that he has it coming and tells Randy to bring the best he can. They sign the contracts and hug before…nothing. No heel turn, no low blow, nothing.

Cody leaves the ring and walks to the back leaving an uneasy Randy in the ring.

Smackdown March 20th: Randy meets Aldis in the back and asks if he can talk, he shares that it’s too much for him to face Cody at Mania. He worries that this won’t be like KOTR and that he may injure him dearly and doesn’t want to fight him. Aldis is taken aback and tells him to please reconsider because there’s no going back on dropping this opportunity and that he can’t cancel a match of this calibre without risking his job. Aldis tells Randy Orton to please take a week then report back, no more because if he does end up cancelling the match then he needs to get another high calibre challenger fast.

Later in the show Cody comes out and calls Randy out to the ring. Cody tells him once again that he has it coming and can face Orton. Randy tells him that if he does then he’ll end up killing Cody if need be. Cody says “You wanna punt me? Is that what the Viper is willing to unleash on me?? Go for it, be the most brutal Randy Orton can be. If that idea scares you then I know how to loosen you up, why don’t you fight somebody next week on Smackdown, why don’t you unleash a teaser so that you’re ready for me at Mania. Trust me, everything has changed these past few years for me, nearly everyone has turned their back on me. I’m not pulling any punches, I’m not afraid of letting out a piledriver or two. Find those voices, listen to them, it’s the only thing that can save you come WrestleMania because I’m not risking anything.”

Smackdown March 27th: Randy face Matt Cardona in a hard hitting match while Cody Rhodes is on commentary, Randy pins him for the victory. After the match Randy looks straight at Cody and then at a battered Cardona and lines him for the punt kick before being stopped by Cody. Randy and Cody begin arguing and Randy attempts the RKO only to be countered into a Cross-Rhodes position which Randy escapes from.

Later in the show Aldis goes to Randy backstage, clearly afraid after what he nearly did to Cardona and asks if he’s giving up on the Mania main event and tells him that all he needs to do is say it now and he’ll cancel the match and set up a tournament to get an opponent for Cody and that silence will be taken as a no and result in Randy moving forward with the main event. Randy stays silent. “Well then, in the main event of Wrestlemania we will see The Viper vs The American Nightmare, wish you the best and my condolences to Cody.”

Smackdown April 3rd: Randy comes out and simply tells Cody that he has bitten off more than he can chew and that Cody will face something 2009 Randy Orton would fear. Cody comes out and tells Randy that he should remain in this mindset because it’ll be very necessary because this Wrestlemania Cody won’t be called a ‘Nightmare’ for no reason.

Randy successfully RKOs Cody and walks to the back. He turns back to the ring and sees Cody recovering and smiling shouting that this is exactly what he wants.

Smackdown April 10th: Cody comes out and talks about his legacy and what the title means to him and says that a Viper chasing 15th is exactly what he needs, that is the final boss.

Smackdown April 17th: Randy and Cody face off one final time before Mania. Randy and Cody shake hands and clearly look tensed as if they’re about to kill each other right now, that’s when music hits.

It’s The Rock. Rock comes down to the ring and tells Randy that this is the moment that he can change his life, Cena sold out and won his 17th, if Randy does the same then The Rock guarantees him his 15th. The Rock then laughs and says Randy won’t bend well because he’s weak. He turns back to Cody and offers him for the final time an opportunity to sell his soul, this opportunity won’t come ever again.

Cody tells The Rock to go fuck himself and looks to Randy who RKOs Cody. The Rock attempts to embrace Randy before being RKO’ed himself and Randy raises the belt showing what he’s truly after and making it clear that he aligns with nobody.

Wrestlemania 42 Night 1: Randy vs Cody plays out mostly the same. The injury rumors are being discussed and Randy’s back is a target. Pat McAfee and Jell Roll don’t exist 😉.

Towards the ending of the match Randy lines Cody up for the punt and hesitates to then be placed in position for a Cross-Rhodes which Randy counters with a final RKO for the victory.

The Rock comes out mid celebration and tells Cody that this is the absolute farthest he is willing to bend, NOW or NEVER. Cody takes he mic and once again says “Hey Rock, go fuck yourself.” Cody and Orton hug with Randy facing The Rock and it feels like Elimination Chamber 2025 all over again but no sellout..?

Cody raises Randy’s hand and hugs him again this time Cody faces The Rock.

The Final Boss signals to Cody to hit the killshot, Cody low blows Randy Orton and hits him with a punt kick. He raises the title he just lost. He sold out.

Wrestlemania 43 match card predictions

Some are RANDOM

Night 1
Liv vs Roxanne (Women’s world title)
Blake Monroe vs Chelsea Green (Women’s US title)
Royce Keyes vs Ricky Saints (or maybe Trick)
Paige and AJ Lee vs Bellas (Tag titles)
Rey vs Dominik (retirement match)
Seth vs Cody (Undisputed title)

Night 2
LA Knight vs Randy Orton
Finn vs Je’von (Intercontinental title)
Sol Ruca vs Lyra or maybe Bayley (Women’s intercontinental title)
Rhea vs Charlotte (Maybe a triple threat with Alexa)(Undisputed title)
Punk vs Owens (granted he returns)
Roman vs Oba (WHC)

I could see Ethan Page and Danhausen on the card as well and I have no clue how the tag division is going to play out, I could only predict it for the women’s tag titles cause it seems obvious that the Bellas will probably turn on Paige and AJ is scheduled to return around that time. I can also see Roman vs Seth and Punk vs Cody as the main events but I doubt they wouldn’t utilise Oba.

Chapter 1 ending

We all know that in chapter 1 Bendy is blocked by the boards in the end. There is however a beta version where Bendy does begin breaking the boards (I think he breaks them all and a shutter blocks him from coming after Henry after.) Is this version playable? Is there any existing file to play that?
