Gustav Klimt copy, me, oil on canvas

After seeing Gustav Klimt's recently discovered "Prince William Nii Nortey Dowuona" and being completely blown away, I thought I'd try to create a replica. Not as good as the original of course, but it was a fun project.

2007 Trailblazer stereo cuts out when pressing on center console

Aftermarket stereo sound cuts out when pressing down or (especially) pressing sideways on center console. OnStar fuse and system have been removed. I also tried disconnecting the rear HVAC control module with no luck. Any ideas? Tia

"Eastern Sun, Winter Moon" by Gary Paulsen. I'm surprised this book doesn't get more attention.

A friend of mine that teaches English highly recommended this and loaned me her copy. Like many, my only experience with Paulsen was reading Hatchet in elementary school. I was aware that he wrote some sequels to Hatchet and assumed that "ES,WM", his memoir, would be in a similar vein, maybe related to the outdoors, his adventures in nature, etc.

It's actually about his life as a small child living with his mother in Chicago at the end of World War II and their quest to join his father, who has just been stationed in the Philippines.

I was a little surprised at how graphic the book is, with pretty raw scenes of sexuality, gore, pedophilia, and animal cruelty, but it's all seen through the eyes of a child who often doesn't understand what is actually happening. There are a lot of grim episodes, but there is also a tenderness in his relationship with his mother and other friends that he makes throughout the story.

My wife, father-in-law, and I each took turns reading it and burned through it in a couple of days. It's a quick read but definitely sticks with you.

Has anyone else read this?

Artifacts, oil on linen, 16x20, me, 2020

This is one of my favorite of my still life paintings from a few years ago. The aluminum foil is one of the toughest things I've ever attempted.
