Normal engine noise on 2015 IS250?

Hey! Just purchased this 2015 IS250 few days ago. Noticed this noise, not sure if it’s normal or if it’s an issue. Any help is appreciated! I drove for few minutes then just went to parking lot to take some pictures and popped the hood and noticed the sound.

Uneven trunk gap on 2015 Lexus IS250 F Sport — easy adjustment or possible body repair? (See arrows)

Hey everyone, looking for some opinions on this trunk alignment on a 2015 Lexus IS250 F Sport I just purchased.

I noticed the gap between the trunk lid and quarter panel is noticeably wider on one side than the other. I attached pictures showing both sides.

Owner did say there was a minor rear end on the right side of the backside 2 years ago and the carfax also stated that. It wasn’t anything major tho.

Has anyone seen this on a IS before? Could this simply be the trunk lid needing to be realigned/adjusted at the hinges or striker, or would you be concerned about previous body/collision repair?

What specifically should I have checked to figure out why the trunk is sitting unevenly? For example:

Trunk hinge bolts/tool marks
Latch/striker alignment
Rubber trunk stops
Quarter panels/rear body structure
Factory seam sealer/welds
Paint thickness/overspray indicating previous repainting
Any other areas I should inspect?

Also, assuming there’s no structural damage, is correcting an uneven trunk gap generally a simple/cheap alignment job?

Thank you in advanced to anyone who responds 🫡

About to buy a 2015 Lexus IS250 F Sport for $18.5k CAD | did I get a good deal?

About to pull the trigger on my first Lexus.

It’s a 2015 Lexus IS250 F Sport in Canada for $18,500 CAD.
Seller originally wanted $20k, then came down to $19k, and we settled at $18.5k.

A few details:
- Never winter driven (according to the owner, and body and condition match his saying. NO rust at all)
- No rust
- Paint is in amazing condition with no noticeable damage
- Interior is honestly a 10/10
- Everything works exactly as it should
- Clean title, minor bumper damage that was fixed few years back
- Came with maintenance records (if applicable)
- Mileage: 96,000 km

I know the IS250 isn’t the quickest Lexus, but reliability and build quality were more important to me than speed. I was looking for something comfortable, dependable, and something I’d enjoy owning for years.

Curious what everyone thinks:
- Did I get a fair deal?
- Anything I should watch out for as a new IS250 owner?
- Any recommended maintenance or common upgrades?

Thanks!

Looking at buying a 2018 Mazda3 GT Sedan (~160 km) - Worth it? Anything I should look out for?

Hey everyone,

I’m looking at buying my neighbour’s 2018 Mazda3 GT sedan and wanted to get some opinions from people who own or have owned one.

Here’s what I know so far:

2018 Mazda3 GT Sedan
Roughly 160km on the car

- No accident history
- Regular oil changes and servicing
- New battery (about a month old)
- Brake pads and rotors have been replaced twice due to normal wear (once front, once back)
- No suspension work has been done
- Spark plugs have never been replaced
- Everything works (A/C, heat, backup camera, infotainment, etc.)

Known issues:

- Small hole in the rear bumper from backing into ice (cosmetic)
- Driver’s window catches a bit when it’s really hot (seller thinks it just needs lubrication)
- Normal minor dents and scratches for an 8-year-old car

The owner is asking $9,000 CAD.

I’m planning on going to see it, taking it for a good test drive, and checking it over in person before making any decisions.

For those familiar with these cars:

- Does $9,000 CAD seem reasonable for a 2018 GT with 162k km?
- Is there anything specific I should inspect on a Mazda3 at this mileage?
- Should I be concerned that the spark plugs have never been replaced?
- Is there any common maintenance or expensive repairs that typically come up around 160k+ km?
- Does the driver’s window issue sound like a simple lubrication/regulator issue, or could it be something more?
- Would you buy this car if it checked out mechanically?

Any advice or things I should specifically look for would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
