‘Goodbye Whoniverse. God, that was fun!’: Russell T Davies on writing the end of Doctor Who | Russell T Davies

RTD's new memoir is out next week, and The Guardian have shared a tell-all extract that reveals what happened towards the end of the RTD2 era

In the extract, he talks at length about the difficulties in promoting the show for two years despite knowing the axe was going to fall, story details on his pitch for the abandoned 2026 Christmas special, his frustration that he couldn't have the 2025 leaker 'Andrew' arrested because the BBC thought prosecuting someone for leaking Doctor Who spoilers would look weird, and describing the Billie Piper cliffhanger as a 'piece of piss' you can either ignore or explain in seven words

A Review Of Spider-Man: The Pilot Episode By Fanedit895

Mixing games and movies is always a fun and unique bit of creative expression, I thought Fanedit895 did a great job weaving in and out of everything, I suppose the widescreen cinematic cuts couldn't be fixed or tweaked to match the aspect ratio of every other bit of footage, but overall very good if you can flex with it, and I love the idea of using the tail end of the twin towers trailer as the opening titles and give you an excuse not to cut anything much out of it, very creative short cut

I'd maybe have included some end credits, either custom or using the opening titles of the movie, it feels a little incomplete as a result, but overall it's a fine edit and successfully integrates the video game footage into a workable and highly entertaining plot.

The TARDIS On A Royal Mission- Commonwealth Games Opening Video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsGwZlKuhUM

This, of course, is what they were filming in Glasgow a few days ago.

A Classic Doctor pop up for just a couple of seconds, but it's bound to get some heads turning. Can't imagine what casual kids who grew up only on Nu Who will make of this.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Re: Shelled: Shredder Triumphant

A while ago, I put together a chronological episode list for a shortened, 13-episode fourth season of the classic 1987 TMNT cartoon, this listing originally ended with the last three episodes being the premiere episodes of seasons five and six, and the finale of the seventh season.

While recently revising the list, I made the decision to create a 'new' season four finale made up of footage from "My Brother, the Bad Guy" (the fifth season opener) and "Shredder Triumphant", both episodes have fantastic stakes and when you cut out most of the b-plots, they form a pretty tight action adventure

Changes include

My Brother, The Bad Guy:

-Title card of "My Brother, The Bad Guy" replaced by "Shredder Triumphant" card

-Turtles encounters with the Kojima Holograms and their creation cut entirely

-Donatello altering the trajectory of the magnet cut, the Technodrome no longer crash lands into the frozen arctic. Instead we cut to a commercial fade as Michelangelo reacts to the Technodrome approaches Earth.

-Final scene with the Turtles, Splinter, and Shredder's brother moved to ending of the episode overall

Shredder Triumphant:

-Opening scene and battle cut, footage from this episode begins as the Turtles arrive at the beach and witness the Technodrome approaching the city

-Turtles whole adventure in Dimension X cut and we focus on the human characters in the city

-Krang, Shredder, Rocksteady and Bebop do not escape to fight for another day. The edit gives us the indication they are all captured at the end.

Start Prog...? (Reboot Returns)

I'm surprised Seedance let me get away with this, I do little shorts but I'm quite keen on making this a full episode down the line, just doing these small little character highlights first and get a feel for what it can do. Comments welcome, do you remember this show?

Rich Johnston Claims The Special IS Happening

https://richjohnston.substack.com/p/the-doctor-who-gossip-no-one-is-talking

Rich Johston of Bleeding Cool is claiming on this substack the Christmas special is being filmed or may already have been filmed, on the cheap with a skeleton cast and crew, the special is described as taking place just on existing Bad Wolf sets and is driven mostly by dialogue.

He previously broke that Matt Smith was the 11th Doctor before it became official in 2009.

Hope it's true. A weak pulse is better than no pulse.
