Android TV vs Mobile: Why doesn't dynamic search (search as you type) work on the TV app? A bug or a Beta limitation?

Hey everyone,

I've been scratching my head over a difference I'm seeing between the Nuvio mobile app and the Android TV version. On my Fold 7, the dynamic search (search as you type) feature works beautifully alongside my AlOMetadata and Cinemeta setup. As soon as I start typing, it instantly suggests titles in the drop-down menu.

However, on my two Nvidia Shields using the TV app, this dynamic search simply doesn't happen. I have to type out the entire query and manually hit the search button to get any results to populate.

I know the TV version and the mobile app are completely different builds maintained by different teams, and they don't share the same underlying code. Because of this, I'm trying to figure out if the lack of dynamic search on Android TV is just an expected limitation of the TV beta build, or if I have a setting misconfigured somewhere.

Has anyone managed to get dynamic search (search as you type) working on the TV version, or is this just expected for TV users right now?

Any insights would be super helpful. Thanks.

Loving Nuvio, but losing my entire settings setup is becoming a major frustration (lack of settings local backup)

Hey Nuvio community,

I'm absolutely loving the app overall, but I have one major gripe that I need to bring up: We badly need a Settings Export/Import option.

Losing half of my configuration, specifically the time spent meticulously rearranging my media catalogs and collections, and then having to re-enter/re-link things like my Trakt account details takes a lot of the enjoyment out of it and feels like a massive friction point.

I completely understand that the app is still in Beta, but I’d argue that's exactly why this feature is so essential now. Beta testing frequently involves app resets or potential data loss, and having a way to back up our setups would make the entire process so much smoother for everyone involved.

What does everyone else think? Is a settings backup a priority for you, too?

Is it possible to replace the stock Clicks keys with a dual-language layout?

It's great that the Clicks software handles different languages, but we really need physical keyboards with dual-language layouts (like English + regional letters).

BlackBerry used to do this perfectly for international markets! If that’s not possible right now, it would be amazing if the team could share the 3D files for the keys so we can 3D print our own customized layouts.

Thanks.
