I have tried that "other" dead bedrooms account and it always makes me delete reddit because of how annoying they are with their rules. Reading into comments saying it violates their terms, just because you might compare your situation to something. Im so grateful to find another reddit account for this topic because I feel so alone with the situation. So im hoping people here are more accepting of someone just trying to rant a little.
Story: I (37M) and wife (38F) have had zero contact intimacy for 8 years. Ever since our second child was born. At first I thought post partum, then I thought it was me. I took a good hard look at myself and changed everything about who I was to be a better partner. Wife says im a great partner. Still wont have sex with me. At this point its too awkward I think to even try i guess. Im a very willing partner. The other night she was moody, I asked "whats wrong?" Eventually pulled it out of her "im horny" she said. Im like...IM LITERALLY RIGHT F*CKING HERE!!!! She said shes worried the condoms are too old, and i said no worries I could go buy some or we dont even have to have PIV. I'll literally give you head (she cant get off with PIV anyways)... shes like NAH.. I told her im not going to live the rest of my life like this. She just watched a TV show and i went to grt ready for bed. Idk what else to do. I literally just want to be with her. But after 8 years im finally at the point Im just wanting to find someone else. So im working today and see this absolute bombshell of a girl and I so badly wanted to ask her for her number. But being the faithful husband I am, even though my wife doesnt want anything from me other than the comfortable life I give her as the sole income, I cannot bring myself to cheat on her, even if it was just talking to someone else. Ive mentioned counseling, but she doesnt want to bring our issues up to someone else. From the outside I'm sure we probably look like a respectable non PDA couple. But I cant live like this anymore. I've begun looking at rentals just to get an idea of pricing. I already feel like im too old to start over, but lord have mercy, im tired of being alone. Im pretty sure shes talking to people online though. She admitted to doing so years ago, even exchanging photos, and being the idiot I was, I forgave her and she said she stopped. I'm not one to snoop through her phone, plus shes changed log in anyways and I couldn't get in if I wanted to. But yeah im pretty sure she's at it again but cant prove it.
I know, its a jail of my own making. Maybe I don't have enough self respect to stand up for myself, or maybe I just still love her so much. Theres also the two kids we have who if I left, would suffer, and I dont want to do that to them . People leave these kind of situations after months of dead bedroom, I honestly dont know why I've stayed for years. But im getting too old to keep doing this.

Idk what it is about me, but despite fact i post every day on socials, or try to reach out to others, no one ever talks to me. Its like im invisible, and its so fkn lonely. I dont have any friends IRL and this is my last hope. Ive tried these kinda of 'make friends here' geoups, and it always ends up with someone trying to either scam me, bot, or theyll talk for a day then ghost me. Im looking for anyone that will ACTUALLY keep in touch. Doesnt have to be every day, maybe even once a week they check in with a "how's it going?" Idk. I never leave someone on read, and often message back fairly quickly unless im at work and cant.

Got about 409 miles and dash said I still had another 89 miles to empty. I averaged 35.2 mpg mostly highway speeds this tank. This is my second fill up. Im not running in eco mode or anything. Those with awd hybrids, how is your range now after driving it for a while? Can I expect it to get even better? Because im still pretty impressed for what I'm getting, but I hope for even better range without having to go into eco mode on highways. 😆
Pretty impressed with the mpg I got. This is right after filling it up. I had an estimated 100 miles left on the tank, so could have probably gotten almost 500 miles total. Im pretty impressed. Filled up in Bridgeport WV and drove back to Bluefield and still averaged about 35mpg. So overall im quite impressed. Im hoping it gets better and better, as ill be routinely going from Bluefield to Morgantown for my new job.

I will be storing tools in the back and I posted on here before about my concerns that someone could just fish a wire in between the tail gate and just pull the release, so I got creative and decided to install locks on the top of my tonneau.
Between the metal of the top and bottom is just Styrofoam. So i had to get creative and use these bearings I found on a gun range before. Im sure you could find something similar at Lowes or home depot. This is not intended as a fool proof solution, and honestly I may end up regretting it. But for now I think it does a good job. Including my YouTube link if you want to watch how I did it.
I do not recommending you do the same, just showing what I did as a solution to my own concerns.
If you're from West Virginia, how does your maverick handle the I-77 commute up and down from princeton to charleston? I used to drive a prius and it got pretty great gas mileage even with that drive, but i found the engine would struggle if the hybrid battery was depleted before I made that northward trip up the mountain from camp creek to Beckley, or that one stretch up the mountain heading toward summersville from i79 theough Birch River. How does the maverick handle the same or similar stretches of highway? And for those not in west Virginia, im talking about a moderate 7% grade for 6-7 miles at a go. Its not the steepest of inclines, but running a hybrid for 7 miles of constant incline, well it always killed my prius battery. So just curious how the maverick handles the same.
Its the awd hybrid I want. Every other dealership around me is charging like 37k before fees or anything else for it. I got approved for 6.99% interest for 72 months with a monthly bill of $631 after taxes and fees. I feel like its a good deal for a 2026, but what do yall think? Its an online deal, and i dont HAVE to take it until truck comes in and I go to sign the paperwork. But deal is good for 30 days.
I just landed a new job that will let me be home more often (near daily) with my kids.. for the last 3 years ive been traveling all over the country for work and had a company truck so I havent had need for a car. But new job requires me to have one. So I want a mav for the great gas mileage. But theyre HARD to find. It looks like I have to go an hour down the road to try to get the one I want. Makes it feel like an exclusive club almost. Going on 13th of June to try and acquire one. Start the job at end of June. Cant wait.
