'World's largest' second-life EV battery factory opens in just six weeks
Looks like a semi competitor to redwood materials.
Competition in this space is good, I wonder if they do personal orders?

That's about $4,500 USD for 90 kWh (roughly the size of a Tesla model Y). Of course, the total battery pack requires more around it which increase cost.
I'll be super curious to see if they need less overall temperature maintenance and thus need less heating and cooling.
Exciting times!
Basically GM is putting bi-partisan directional charging in all it's cars and then it's selling a package to turn them into either blackout protection and/or a VPP for the grid.
Very interesting.
And it sounds like the 2028 model will use international standards for communication enabling interoperability with other manufacturers equipment.
This personally puts them ahead of Teslas.
I'm learning a few things but I feel the Seattle Times' distinct slant/taint on the series.
Only episode 2 is available but I can't help but feel like this is very police apologist.
In story telling people tend to remember the latter parts more so detailing the in-proper use of "non-lethal" crowd control in a way that makes them lethal and then following it up with some quotes about how cops were scared and so sad they left the precinct is certainly a choice they made.
I'm considering getting into balcony solar before possibly getting a full system later.
I have a 40 degree pitched roof that is part of a vaulted ceiling. The roof gets quite hot during the summer and I'm thinking I could put a few panels on it it would cool things down + generate power for AC.
The real kicker is that the roof will need to be replaced in 10 years or so so I didn't want to put anything too permanent on it. We don't get hurricanes but the occasional high (50 mph) winds so I'm trying to think what I could use.
The cheapest DIY would be 2x2's or something that go over the peak of the roof that I could mount the panels on but I was curious what others might consider.
I was listening to: https://www.volts.wtf/p/how-to-phase-out-residential-gas and thought that I wouldn't mind being given $35K to fully electrify my house :)
Looks like the pilot was talked about here: https://csumb.edu/news/news-listing/east-campus-may-become-californias-largest-electrification-project/?ref=calregulatory.com
Was driving the other day and I saw that police cruiser 5227 had a blue line flag on the back of it.
Given the history of the Blue line flag, that seems pretty hostile to the rest of the citizens. I wonder how our city government feels about the police that it pays being openly hostile to minorities?
Just seems weird that it was allowed there in the first place.
