Question

I was sanding down these wheels at work this week and it reminded me how I wanted to start polishing wheels last year whether that be as a hobby or side job, What products do you guys reccomend? Is it worth it to get stuff from the renegade company or should I look elsewhere

Work as paint helper

Hi redditors,
I started working at a body shop when I turned 16 as a porter and a few months ago I switched to a different shop that gave me the opportunity to be more hands on with the cars, I’m a paint helper at this shop and will kinda help with body work here and there but i’m more on the paint side of things as that’s what I was most interested in. I prep the cars for paint and then get them masked off so all the painter has to do is spray his gun, they started me out at $20 HOURLY and they’ve taught me everything I didn’t know how to do properly before as Id only seen people at the original shop do stuff here and there as Id walk by. They are usually always impressed with the work I do and kind of brag to their friends about it which i’m happy with because I take pride in what I do but as time goes on I feel like i’m being underpaid and I’m not sure if I should talk to them about how much money I am getting. Curious what someone doing this work around the ohio/indiana/michigan area should be making and if it should be flat rate or hourly wages, most jobs at this shop are customer pay and not insurance jobs like my previous shop was so i’m not sure flat rate really would work or not and how they’d go about that. I apologize if i’m rambling on or confusing the reader of this but i’m just curious how much you guys believe a “paint helper” should make around this area?
