Switched from T-Mobile to Xfinity for internet (1Gbps plan) when set up I was getting the 1G speeds consistently. Now I notice they only average around low 4XX.XX Mbps down and 1XX.XX up. This was with my Xfinity XB8-T in gateway mode connected to my TP-Link Archer BE-230 via the WAN port (also connected to 2.5Ghz port on the XB8-T).

 

I troubleshooted by disconnecting the TP-Link and restoring the default settings of the XB8-T back from bridge mode and then connected directly to the Xfinity gateway and the 1Gbps speeds returned. Anyone have any suggestions?

 

Also using Surfshark VPN merged.

Switched service from T-Mobile to Xfinity a week or so ago and for the first several days the internet speed tests consistently showed 1,XXXMbps download speeds and 1XX Mbps upload.

Now I'm only seeing 4XX Mbps down and 1XX Mbps up. Have rebooted the gateway and my router (TP-Link BE3600) and the issue continues. I have the Xfinity gateway in bridge mode but the speeds were fine when originally set up in this configuration.

Checked and rebooted desktop issue still present. NIC settings within device manager are also good as well.

When doing the network test if ran on either 'Balanced or Beautiful' the test reports...

Network test complete

"Your network may have trouble streaming. Would you like to optimize your streaming settings for low bandwidth?

If I test on 'Fast' it reports...

Network test complete

"Streaming bandwidth test successful up to 30Mb/s"

I've done a factory reset to the Steam Link box but the results are the same. System & Steam Link are wired via CAT 6 cable directly to router (TP-Link BE3600 (Windows 11 Home 25H2 26200.8328) Never had this issue before when testing network speed always ran up to 30Mb/s on all the settings (Fast, Balanced, Beautiful)..
