How to maximize the chances that my book will succeed?

I have started writing my first book!!! It's a practical guide. It'll probably be 60k-70k words.

Fortunately, I have first-hand experience in this topic, the entire category is full of fluff/outdated books, the best seller ($4000 a month!!!) is literally AI SLOP! and I literally compiled all the reviews, read 12+ months worth of reddit posts on the topic, compiled pain points, what works, what doesn't, etc. etc. and now I am starting to write the book.

I have a budget of $150 for the book cover design that I would delegate to some freelancer on Fiverr or UpWork. Is that a good strategy?

Also, I know the topic cold, but I want to optimize the title later.

Any advice?

Can I stack books to publish years later?

I will be moving countries on a student visa that prohibits self-employment and I will only be legally allowed to make money online once I transition from the student visa. That's like 3-4 years of time.

If I choose evergreen niches, and literally spend that time optimizing my books and writing and refining them ad nauseum and write as many high quality books as I can, and then ship them once I am legally cleared to, is this a good idea?

You never know. Amazon could probably go out of business maybe, haha, or maybe KDP would be saturated?

Is it possible to succeed on KDP without paying for any tools?

I plan to start writing my practical, 70-100 page book. Gurus on YouTube keep pitching XYZ products for writing the book, doing the cover, keyword research, etc.

I used a free trial to keyword optimize my book title, but other than that, I will write it in a notepad txt file and then paste it on Reedsy's book editor.

Finally, before publishing, I'd hire a freelance cover designer to design a premium cover for it, and then I'd ship it on KDP and hope it sells.

Any advice? Thank you :)

Does learning Modern RP make acquiring other British accents easier?

I plan to break into British accents by mastering RP first and then researching how the most commonly native colloquial British accent differs from RP, consciously drill the phonemic differences and spam shadowing like there's no tomorrow.

Will this work?

My current English is super American, rhotic, and unnatural (my connected speech is really bad).

I can't immediately start learning colloquial British accents, because there isn't any course that lays the foundations. I will have to perfect Modern RP and diverge into other accents.

I don't know if I should write my book... Please advise!

I have a passion for a certain niche but I checked it on KDSpy and the #1 book literally just sells one copy a month.

The niche is recovering from being a NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) or Failure to Launch syndrome (it goes by many names).

Now I am genuinely confused on whether to follow my passion and write the book anyway in my free time or to drop KDP publishing altogether.

Or, should I write the book, and market it myself? Post in relevant subreddits, etc.

And honestly? I lack the confidence to write the book. Like, who am I to write about that problem and try to solve it, as much as I can?

If I do proceed with writing the book, I would research copious amounts of information, take inspiration from my first hand experience, and check forums/subreddits of people who went through that problem and try to synthesize some kind of... "This is the best thing I can come up with."

What do you guys think?

What would be a fun topic to learn and create content for?

I don't want to start a YouTube channel now. I am looking for a fun, practical niche where I genuinely and passionately learn something from scratch (that's not saturated or overcrowded) for 1-2+ year(s) and then create content for.

Three rules: No generic stuff, no dead niches, and something that I can learn in my room using my laptop and the internet (can't do physical stuff or physical projects).

Thank you!

Can I turn off monetization if legally required?

I plan to launch a YouTube channel where I currently live. I will move to another country on a student visa that prohibits self employment (YouTube counts), so I would have to turn off monetization. But after I switch my visa, I would turn monetization back again.

Can I do that?

How to get extremely good at my major?

Hi! I am a BPharm student about to graduate within a year. However, I want to pursue MSc and PhD post graduation... with a twist:

I want to create a laptop framework (using Anki, notetaking apps, etc.) and study 6-8 hours a day so I can get tiptop in that field and genuinely good at it. I want to stand out and make it fun too (as a challenge).

What would that field be? And, how to study for it and get good at it? I don't want a hands-on field or wet-lab/bench field (because I can't do lab work in my room) but I want a field that I can learn from my laptop, even if it's quantitative and hard.

Please, even if you aren't Pharmacy/Health-degree related, any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

How good is a career in hospital pharmacy?

Reading posts here made me think that working in a community pharmacy in the UK not only pays low but is painful and full of friction. Is hospital pharmacy better?

What's the best career for a pharmacist in the UK?

Which option is the best one for an introvert who enjoys grinding and "experincing" things?

Hello! My native language is Arabic and I speak English fluently (C1ish).

I have A LOT of free time after I finish my studies and I am thinking of either putting that into

(A): Learning a NEW foreign language.

OR

(B): Starting an amateur hobby YouTube channel to teach English to Arabs from scratch to B1/B2.

For (A), I don't know which language to learn honestly. I can't travel and don't have the means to, so I won't be travelling. If I ever learn a foreign language, I will strictly choose one that's ubiquitous online so I can find target language communities, media, videogames, etc. to engage with.

(C): Do nothing and just play video games.

For (B), I would make my English impeccable and explicitly learn the ins and outs of English grammar, and reverse engineer textbooks/curricula and take TEFL/ESL teaching stuff, read material on how to teach English, etc. and get really good and improve my own English before I start a YouTube channel where I put out a structured, streamlined pathway from A1 to B1/B2 in English. It would be fun, no?

For (B), I won't "monetize" it or put anything behind a paywall, even if I somehow go viral and make professional-grade lessons, and might just settle with monetizing my YouTube channel, so again, it's a leisurely, hobby pursuit, not a business idea.

Should I do (A), (B), or (C)?

Should I only create a YT Channel in a niche that's in demand?

I like playing old, classic video games and to document them, but I don't think anyone cares.

Should I pivot to more mainstream, popular niches?

Can I listen to American media whilst learning SSBE concurrently?

I am planning to start an amateur YouTube channel where I teach (British) English to people who speak my native language.

I am not planning to teach English to high level of proficiency, just enough to get my viewers to become independent and reach fluency on their own after they finish my channel's content, 100% purely amateur.

The goal is not "perfection". I just want to go through the SSBE accent and then practise it for a few months and then start the YT channel.

As I learn the British IPA phonemes, do I need to actually STOP listening to any American songs, movies, YouTube videos, etc. so I can minimise phonetic interference and make my ear only receive 100% British input?

Sorry if the question sounds bizarre, I don't have much hands-on experience with language learning, so I don't know if this matters. My English proficiency is low C1.

I drink from 400 mg to 600 mg (caffeine) worth of energy drinks a day.

I walk like a mule, like 10,000-15,000 steps. I don't smoke.

I just bought an expensive fitness watch and after a 2 hour walk it told me my lungs are great but my heart sucks. Which I know because I get tachycardia (fast heart beats) and feel anxious 24/7 because I am constantly hyped up with this damned caffeine.

I literally track my caffeine intake on an app. Right now, at night, 11:04 PM, I got 212 mg of caffeine left in me.

I have ADHD and trust me I don't EVEN feel energized I just consume it out of pure addiction.
