Will he ever talk again?
My baby boy has severe epilepsy (M7) and autism. His MRI is normal Genetics normal. I lost my mum and grandma age 7 and I could really do with some guidance if any of you lovely people could give me some reassurance

My son 7m was diagnosed profound autism at 2, had genetic testing all came back normal. He’s been “Stimming” since age 1 side eyeing tapping objects going Oooooo, randomly laughing like he’s being tickled all of which I was told was the autism, he’d learn words then “regress” in February 2026 he had a Grandmal seizure and had a 30 min EEG in April, the man doing the eeg wasn’t convinced it would show anything. But he had multiple right sided focal seizures that happened when he was “Stimming” he’s now diagnosed with Multifocal epilepsy his discharges are in his Right sided Temporal and Frontal lobe. He’s prescribed Lamotrigine 5mg upto 50mg over a number of weeks since being on the 5mg for the past two weeks he’s been so much calmer and can even follow simple instructions, can pass the correct shape when asked to bring a certain one! Starting to make noises like words like Mmmmm for mum….(For reference he was put at mentally 5months old before).
My question is if you had these seizures every few minutes is it possible that you could come across as non verbal autistic? Has anyone heard of this before?
He’s on the urgent waiting list for an MRI to rule out anything structural.
