I just got back from my trip to Morocco about a month ago and I have questions 🇲🇦
Morocco has been my favorite place I’ve visited and have been thinking about this place ever since I left. I plan to come back again as this country has definitely shown me what real hospitality, kindness and respect is.
I spoke to many locals/shopkeepers there and learned about them. However, there are a few questions that I felt that weren’t appropriate to ask during my stay there; so I’m hoping someone or some of you can help my answer them:
Are the ceramics that are sold in the souks actually handmade and painted by locals/in Fez?
What are the locals thoughts on the increase in tourism in your country, as the government is investing more money into that industry rather than the healthcare system or education system?
How much do tour guides get paid? What’s their salary like and realistically is it enough to make a living out of it?
How much do you tip when you’re eating at a local restaurant (paid 30dh for a nice lunch and tipped 10dh bc the food was good and the guy was nice)?
What do locals pay for a large bottle of water? I noticed it varies from area to area.
If locals can tell travellers a few things to be aware of while we’re visiting, what would it be? Be brutally honest.
Thank you in advanced! These questions genuinely come from a place of curiosity and not meant to come off offending anyone.
