How many days do you really need in Morocco—7, 10, or 14?

One of the biggest mistakes people make when planning Morocco is underestimating the distances. Marrakech, Fes, Chefchaouen, the Sahara, and the Atlantic coast may look manageable on a map, but trying to include everything in one short trip usually means spending too much time in the car.
As local travel designers, we put together a practical guide explaining:
When a 7-day itinerary makes sense
Why 10 days works well for the imperial cities and Sahara
What 14 days allows you to experience at a more comfortable pace
The difference between choosing Erg Chebbi and Erg Chigaga
Realistic sample routes for each trip length
If you’re planning your first trip to Morocco, you can read the complete guide here:
https://moroccoshinydays.com/morocco-itinerary/
I’m also happy to answer questions about routes, driving times, the desert, or choosing arrival and departure airports.

Morocco Traveling - Best Cities

Hello I am planning a trip to Morocco at the end of November this year. I have some extra days to fill in between three different cities I can't decide. Debating between Tangier, Rabat, or Casablanca. I fly out of Marrakech so the benefits of going to Rabat or Casablanca is that I will be close to Marrakech to fly out of.

G adventure trip

First time visiting Morocco at the end of the August for 2 weeks. Below is my trip map.

What I must bring with me from USA since I’ve never experienced this hot temperature (NYC native).

Should I bring huge water bottle or hydration bladder?

What cloths as a woman should I bring?

What else I must know before I begin my trip?

Is Visa card accepted everywhere? If not, should I bring dollar?

How much money should I bring since it’s only me & I’m a budget traveler. Occasionally I like to eat in a good place but that’s all.

Thanks for any advice!

Clouds / eclipse August 2027

Dear all,

I am planning my trip for next summer as I'd love to come and see the total eclipse on August 2nd 2027 in Tangier.

I was planning to stay in Tangier for 5 days to enjoy the city and be there on the D day.

However, a colleague told me the city is often cloudy in the mornings so I might consider going elsewhere for the eclipse. I'd really love to stay in Tangier.

What can you tell me about the clouds and the weather in general at the end of July/beginning of August?

Need Help Planning For Morocco

Me and my Friends (5 of us) are planning on going to Morocco later in the year. We have done our proper research and set our Itinerary properly for the amount of days we are travelling for.

However, we are having an issue on deciding how to plan the 3-day overnight desert trip from Marrakech to Merzouga. I have checked opinions online and it seems most people book it from a local agency when they visit in person. ($500 CAD online)
Also would you guys recommend doing the same(booking in person) for an overnight dinner show+quad biking at Agafay($50+CAD-online). Same with the Hot Air Balloon Ride. The price online is around $215+ CAD per person. Would booking in person be cheaper and if so how much cheaper.

Just having these road blocks with booking out activities because we are uncertain from where we should book, and how much it should be. As we are only 20 years old we are trying to be very mindful of how much we are spending overall.

If someone could please guide us on this it would be very helpful!

I just got back from my trip to Morocco about a month ago and I have questions 🇲🇦

Morocco has been my favorite place I’ve visited and have been thinking about this place ever since I left. I plan to come back again as this country has definitely shown me what real hospitality, kindness and respect is.

I spoke to many locals/shopkeepers there and learned about them. However, there are a few questions that I felt that weren’t appropriate to ask during my stay there; so I’m hoping someone or some of you can help my answer them:

  1. Are the ceramics that are sold in the souks actually handmade and painted by locals/in Fez?

  2. What are the locals thoughts on the increase in tourism in your country, as the government is investing more money into that industry rather than the healthcare system or education system?

  3. How much do tour guides get paid? What’s their salary like and realistically is it enough to make a living out of it?

  4. How much do you tip when you’re eating at a local restaurant (paid 30dh for a nice lunch and tipped 10dh bc the food was good and the guy was nice)?

  5. What do locals pay for a large bottle of water? I noticed it varies from area to area.

  6. If locals can tell travellers a few things to be aware of while we’re visiting, what would it be? Be brutally honest.

Thank you in advanced! These questions genuinely come from a place of curiosity and not meant to come off offending anyone.

I lost my passport in Morocco

I’m in marrakesh and lost my passport, I went to Casablanca and have my emergency passport but the airport is saying I also need a police report. The problem is I need a copy of my passport to make the police report and I don’t have that, has any one who’s travelled to Morocco been in a similar situation?

Advice needed on my 23 nights trip to morroco

Should I cut the Chefchaouen detour from my 23-night Morocco road trip in september? (self-drive, Fes to Marrakech)

Planning a 23-night self-drive trip (Sept 11 – Oct 4), renting a car in Fes and dropping off in Marrakech.

Route so far:

Fes (3n) → Chefchaouen (3n) → Ifrane (1n) → Merzouga (2n) → Dadès/Todra Gorges (2n) → Skoura (day stop) → Aït Benhaddou (2n) → Imlil (3n) → Marrakech (3n) → Essaouira (4n, by bus)

The issue: Chefchaouen is a genuine detour north from Fes, and getting back on route toward Ifrane/the desert means partially retracing the same road. It adds real driving time and I'm wondering if it's worth it given everything else on the itinerary (desert, gorges, kasbahs, Atlas mountains, coast).

Trying to decide if it's a highlight or just a "blue photos" detour that eats driving time I could use elsewhere. Would really appreciate any real experience :)

Where in Morocco would you recommend for October?

Planning a trip to Morocco in early October. I’ve been to Marrakech a few times already so want to try somewhere different.

I’m currently looking at Tangier, Agadir, Fez or Rabat.
I’d ideally like somewhere near the coast, but also somewhere with a bit of life — good food, cafés and restaurants, things to do in the evening, and some culture and places to explore during the day.

Not looking for a full-on resort holiday,

Any suggestions on where i should go

Thanks in advance

Baby Camels in Morocco

Pretty self explanatory, going to Morocco in September, my plan is to spend a few nights in Casa, Tangier, and Fes. I arrive and depart from Casa. I really want to see a baby camel while I am in Morocco, and I don't want to go down South. Is anyone aware of a farm with camels, or a place where I can see camels in any of the places I mentioned?

Thanks in advance!

Family trip to Agadir (Dec 18–28) — Looking for local agency/host for house rental & day tours!

Hi everyone!

We are planning a family holiday to Agadir from December 18th to December 28th (2 adults, 3 kids aged 5, 10, and 12).

We’re looking for recommendations for reliable local agencies, hosts, or tour operators who can help us with a couple of things:

House / Villa / Large Apartment Rental: We’d love to stay in a comfortable, family-friendly residential area in or around Agadir (or nearby coastal spots like Taghazout/Tamraght). We prefer something spacious where 5 of us can relax over the 10 days.

Excursions & Day Trips: We’d like to organize a few private day trips while we're there (e.g., Paradise Valley, coastal drives, Souss-Massa, local markets, or child-friendly desert/buggy experiences) without being pushed into high-pressure tourist shopping stops.

Has anyone used a great local agency, independent licensed driver/guide, or property manager in the region that they’d recommend?

Any advice or direct contacts (WhatsApp/websites) would be massively appreciated! Thanks in advance! 🙏
