Hyperthyroidism and Lipedema

Does anyone have experiences with hyperthyroidism and lipedema? I see a lot of people mention hypo but I believe my Graves’ disease triggered this. It’s a strange combination because my graves makes me naturally inclined to lose weight. So for my non lipedema areas I have to put weight on and my lipedema areas I need to lose weight. Looking to hear about experiences, how you manage both conditions and how you think Graves/hyperthyroidism may uniquely impact lipedema in ways distinct to hypothyroidism.

Diagnosis Anxiety

Hey all, I had my first appt with a GP this morning to get a lipoedema diagnosis and it was so awful. The man looked at me like I was insane and was very dismissive. He didn’t even touch my legs, only rotating my ankles to check for circulation. I asked him how I can check for nodules and he said there isn’t a way. I did get the referral but now I’m feeling incredibly embarrassed and plagued with self doubt. The appointment couldn’t have been longer than 8 minutes. I’m lean but suspect stage 1. I have symptoms of pain, have new indentations wearing socks, symptoms started alongside my Graves’ disease, have hypermobility, spider veins, weight accumulation in upper thighs and arms, and bumpy feeling tissue under my thighs. But I naturally lose weight easily and my legs appear smooth. I’m wanting a diagnosis one way or the other for peace of mind but feel so disheartened I don’t even want to follow up with the referral for fear of being embarrassed again.

Connective tissue issues vs lipoedema

How did you distinguish between a connective tissue phenotype that mimics lipoedema and actual progressive lipoedema? Trying to get a diagnosis but my symptoms are applicable for both conditions.
