Got this cobalt sport axle and as I was taking out the bushing, I realized too late I messed up.
I cut into the bore; about a 1/4 of the way. From the inside out. The line on the outside is just a scratch.
How bad do you think it is? Is it trash?
I got a donor Chevy cobalt 4dr Sport 2.4 (motors broken) model for my 2.2 LT 4dr. I seen that the sport has rear calipers whereas the LT has drum brakes. I am interested in swapping them out but it looks like I'll have to exchange the whole uframe thing because although I can remove the calipers, the bracket? that holds the caliper is not present on the LT frame; and it looks like it is welded on.
I'm sure I can find stuff on a model club website but thought to reach out here too: has it been done and do I really have to switch out the rear axle? Assembly?
Any advice or precautions for the feat?
Maybe I should just rebuild the 2.4? I already tore through half of it replacing parts on the LT.
Also, AI says I can't switch transmissions, know of any success stories of such Frankensteins? I imagine there'll be heavy modifications needed but...

So I do my oil change after the dealership and it's over tightened; whatever.

I do it and then there's a slight leak.

Circled in read is on the filter housing that I take concern with. The scratch isn't crazy deep but it's the only thing I can see that needs to be change.

I do have the metal housing on the way.

Also, on the last picture: is that a double washer? That top ring was stuck stuck, and I was changing the plug for a magnetic one. It came with another washer; I added it despite the concern. After having drove it 50 miles, the plug is not leaking, but the housing is.

Since I'm addressing filter housing, I guess: is the drain plug double washered?
