I mostly go for catfish, probably the most hardy survivable fish you can think of. I’ve heard trout are one of the most sensitive. If i were to go fishing for them how would you hold them and how long can they stay out the water for? (i know that you should wet your hands to protect their slime coat and that’s about it)

not complaining, but I swear the smell lingers on your hand so strong even after washing it lol

Ive used two kinds, a small bait holder hook and a large circle hook. Each time i’ve used the circle hooks they ended up getting gut hooked, but i tried out the tiny hook and it hooked nicely on the lip of the one i caught. Are circle hooks the issue or is the size a problem? I think the size was around 6/0
