"You Weren't With us Mass Evolving Pidgey"

My five year old daughter took an interest in Pokémon go earlier this year in March, leading me to show her Pokémon GO and her begin to "help" play with me on my account. Fast forward to the free hundo Mewtwo, after much teetering on the idea, my wife and eight year old son also signed up for accounts on the premise of getting one of the best pokémon in the game immediately for next to nothing (my daughter doesn't have her own device to use, but i'll probably just make her an account to lock in the mewtwo.) In the few days since, they've both fallen in love with the game, showing me there catches, talking about how they level'd up again, asking different questions. My wife is now level 22 after about 3 days, and my son is 13 after just 1 and change. I love having them play with me, but the game is so different now then when it launched and it has me feeling like old timers talking about "back in my day". XP is so much easier to come by, and they really did get hundo mewtwos first day, far from the case for day one players. Not really a complaint, as i'm glad the game is enjoyable for them, just a thought. Can you think of any other OG struggles and stories that new players wouldn't have to go through?

Need one jungle, two sandstorm, and three ocean. Please help!

Title says it all. If anyone could help with those regions that would be greatly appreciated. I have polar gifts if that is of interest.

Leek Duck's Pen Pal Network

I've been trying to complete my vivillon medal, and it's proved to be annoying. Why do people post on pen pal and then not send gifts or send gifts from a different region than what they listed themselves as?

PS, I need gifts from Tundra, Sandstorm, River, Savanna, Sun, Ocean, and Jungle. If you're from any of those areas could you comment down below if you're willing to help?! TIA.

Tell me the Story of Your Favorite Catch(es)!

This subreddit has been bombed lately with the same questions, the same posts complaining about those questions, and so on. Let's get back to having fun talking about the game we like to play! What are some memorable catches or catch stories you have?

My top two would be:

Catching a hundo Mewtwo at Montreal Safari Zone in 2019. It was the first Canadian in-person event for GO. Happening in my favorite city to visit. It's always fun playing in big crowds, watching the excitement of people getting hundos and shinies, or finding rare Pokémon. We did the raid and I saw the number and was so excited to shiny check it, it wasn't shiny, but still did the "HUNDO!" yell and got some high fives from others around the raid. That Mewtwo is now maxed and one of the couple Mewtwo Ys I have.

My 2nd favorite catch was from Dratini Community Day Classic in 2022. It fell on my 30th birthday, and I caught not one, but two shundo Dratinis that day!

Let's hear your stories!

Are we Going to be Able to Remote Raid Mega Mewtwo? Potential issue for solo raiders.

This isn't a "will we get mega energy?" question, it's a functionality question. Supposedly, Mega Mewtwo has 12 shields, which means the raid would require a minimum of 12 players with an active mega to defeat them. However, you can only invite 10 friends at a time to a raid. So... simple math suggests if you're raiding by yourself, you won't be able to host a remote raid, as you would cap out at 11. Has there been any news drops that I've missed that state you'll be able to get more players into these lobbies? Or something else I'm missing?

Who to Prioritize during Road of Legends / GO Fest Global

I left GO during December 2023 and just came back a couple of months ago. Missed all the fusions and most megas. I made a list of all the raids I'm interested in (and why) but likely won't be able to do all the raids necessary for energy for all of them with the budget i have planned. Who should I focus on other than Mega Mewtwo?

For context: I'm mainly a raid guy. Casually enjoy PVP but my interest comes and goes. I have a shiny reshiram already, not good iv, but heard hes decent on his own not just fuse fill, have a 93 zekrom so that may be good enough, have a lunala i can use for fuse but also heard hes decent on his own. Dont have any origin palkia or dialga. No good kyurem. I have one 98 necrozma, but thats my only good one. No Zacian or Zamazenta at all but understand they take ~10 raids to get energy needed. Have a 98 kyogre that id like to primal evolve.

Help me Prioritize for Road of Legends / GO Fest Global

Hey everyone, so I left the game in December of 2023 and just returned a couple months ago. During that time I missed all the fusion stuff and a lot of the megas. With RoL / GO Fest week coming up, I made a list of raids I'm interested in (and why), but I understand that cost wise I probably won't be able to do this whole list. I will be putting some money in though along with all the free passes so what from this list should I prioritize, other than Mewtwo?

For context: I mainly play in raids, I do play pvp but it's secondary importance to me and my interest in it comes and goes. No Zacian or Zamazenta at all but understand they take ~10 raids to get energy needed, much like the necrozma fusions. Have a 98 kyogre that id like to primal evolve, already got a primal groudon.

Road of Legends GO Pass questions

I've been away from the game for a few years so I'm only used to the monthly GO passes, and have a few questions. Does this go pass have to be completed within the event timeframe? If so, how hard is it / will it be to run through 100 tiers in a week for the gold bottle cap? Finally, what's the general consensus? I know we don't know all the rewards for the paid version, but do we think it's the $20 price point. TIA for any info!

GO Fest Global rewards outside of local time / remotely.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, just coming back after three years away from the game. GO Fest global is from 10AM-7PM local time. I live in Canada, AST. What I'm wondering is if I wake up early and do a remote raid with someone in say a part of Europe, who would be in a GO Fest Global window before me, for example let's say i play at 7AM and do a remote raid in Germany (12PM,) would I receive the mega energy / mewtwo energy for that raid? My initial thought is that pre-released megas would be ok, but I'm curious about Mewtwo as it wouldn't be released in my timezone yet, but alas it is called "GLOBAL." Same question applies for post my local event timezone, could I do a raid at 9pm my time in California (5pm) and be credited?
