143 has aged… pretty well? I was just relistening to All The Love and Nirvana today and it’s come to my attention that this album was actually a pretty solid dance record and very overhated (even by me lol). The production/bass on high quality headphones goes crazy. I feel like the hate train on Katy in 2024 greatly overshadowed the music. Although it’s not her best work, the Metascore score of 34 is not justified at all. There’s some real solid material here.

One thing I love about Katy’s discography is how every album has a completely different visual aesthetic. What’s your favourite? I’d have to say Prism. The late summer/sunset vibes are so gorgeous!

I’m sorry but as a fandom we moved on WAY too quickly from the 365 music video. Easily one of her best videos and concepts EVER. The acting is crazy, the looks are insane, the storyline is incredible. 10/10. This is easily her best visual project post-Witness!

The 2015 black pixie era just randomly came back to me 😭

10 years ago, Katy released arguably her most powerful song to date. It was a surprise release for the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics (that video still gives me goosebumps!), and Katy suggested the song was needed “now more than ever” after the devastating Pulse Gay Nightclub shooting in Florida that summer. Katy later met one of the surviving victims on Ellen after the songs release.

It was later released as an independent single with an incredible cinematic music video. One of Katy’s most underrated gems, it really showcases her vocal ability, and the lyrics are some of her best.

Such an incredible song! I seriously can’t believe it’s been 10 years.

1. Teenage Dream (legendary, ofc!) 🍭
2. Witness (love the concept and aesthetic) 👁️
3. One Of The Boys (represents the era well) 🍓
4. PRISM (beautiful pic of her, editing is meh) 🌻
5. Smile (like the concept, but hate the font) 🤡

It’s been almost 2 days since the release of Watch It Burn! What’s everybody’s honest rating of the song and video? I personally loved it, her biggest potential hit since 2019 imo. My only critics are it sounds a little too “polished”, lyrics are a little meh in the verses, and it’s WAY too short (again!). But the chorus/vocals/instrumentals HIT HARD, and the music video is a masterpiece! 🔥

2. Walking On Air (the beat feels like you’re LITERALLY walking on air, sooo blissful and ecstatic)

(final chorus specifically, I don’t know what drug they put in this instrumental but it’s pretty spiritual to me)
