So frustrated with Katy

I’m just so annoyed with Katy.

She lets her reputation, legacy, artistry go to the wolves all of the time.

I’m tired of having to defend her / defend being her fan when she doesn’t even defend herself or sincerely try to make good music anymore.

And she’s still an amazing performer, etc - she has it and clearly wants her fame. But damn.

She’s so out of touch. I fear my childhood musical hero is no longer really there.

The relentless string of massive PR blunders makes me think she just just be genuinely so stupid, and actually traumatized from the witness flop to this day. She’s a shell of what she once was artistically.

Also so many of her haters from her earlier years grew up and now work in the industry, making her an industry outcast.

The GP? People fucking HATE her. And I know it’s all BS. But being her fan feels awful. You bring it up and you’re hit with - nun killer, veteran killer, sexual abuser, rapist apologist. Like that’s INSANE. ALL of this is BS that could be explained away, but her and her team are incapable of it.

I really thought she was reclaiming her power working with Luke, was excited for her and good music, and that she would explain to the public in some elevated way like a RS interview what happened but no.

Pop music feels empty to me without her, but I’ve been waiting for about 10 years for it to turn around since witness and I don’t think I want to anymore.

I keep holding out hope but I don’t think I can anymore. But man, pop feels empty to me without her.

What a shame, what a WASTE Katy.

Just sharing. I know it’s silly. Clearly she meant a lot to me.

EDIT: this thought was kicked off by Kesha and Kim Petras hanging, and to clarify, that makes me happy. I don’t intend for this thread to be about either of them - so removing an original blurb about how that made me think about how frustrated I’ve been with Katy. Thanks all for the convo. 143

You know what…

143 has aged… pretty well? I was just relistening to All The Love and Nirvana today and it’s come to my attention that this album was actually a pretty solid dance record and very overhated (even by me lol). The production/bass on high quality headphones goes crazy. I feel like the hate train on Katy in 2024 greatly overshadowed the music. Although it’s not her best work, the Metascore score of 34 is not justified at all. There’s some real solid material here.

Favourite Album Aesthetic?

One thing I love about Katy’s discography is how every album has a completely different visual aesthetic. What’s your favourite? I’d have to say Prism. The late summer/sunset vibes are so gorgeous!

Looking for specific pics

Hi everyone! Does anybody have the smile alternative cover art #1? It’s the fan-made one. I’m specifically looking for a full HD official version without the “famekilled” watermark.

P.S. Does anybody know a place to find HD versions of album photoshoots? Wiki fandom usually has good pics, but I’m not able to easily save photos from there :/
