This is the third offer like this today, and the fifth in three days. Glitch, or new normal?

Just Eat down again! It's like every two weeks this happens. What a joke of a company.
Is it just me or does bird subject detect mode act more like a multi-subject mode than the actual dedicated multi-subject mode does?
Don't get me wrong, it clearly prioritises birds but I find the multi-subject mode to be slow and unreliable, whereas bird mode will happily pick up the eyes of dogs or people at a distance far better than the dedicated, or multi-subject mode does.
The only time I find dedicated human or mammal eye autofocus better is when the subject fills the majority of the frame.
Thoughts?
I don't often post my photos online and I'm sure these sorts of photos have been done to death, but I'm proud of this for a couple of reasons...
Firstly: I got Zac to sit still long enough.
Secondly: I achieved it with a ridiculous setup of Nikon Z8 and Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 G2. I used a couple of Meike macro tubes and a Raynox DCR-250!
I'm buying a macro lens! 😂
