Can’t charge at work - 2027

Yesterday was my first time trying to charge in public at work. Others were charging at the stations adjacent this one and someone was even charging in this station later in the day. I get a solid blue light for a few minutes and then it goes out and I get the errors in the photo. It’s a level 2 j1772 charger and I’m using a lectron (https://a.co/d/0gPifuUi) adapter. The adapter and my level 2 at home works fine. Seems I’m the only one having issues at this charger. It’s set to charge immediately as you can see in the photos. Any suggestions?

2027 Bolt RS 3 days in - thoughts

Pics attached are the day I bought it and after new tint.

I've put a few hundred miles on my 2027 RS w/ Sunroof & Tech Package already and am here to share some initial thoughts. I'm coming from an Ioniq 5 lease, but a previous Bolt owner as well.

Overall love the car. Happy I went back to the Bolt. While the Ioniq 5 charged faster and may be a bit quieter on the road with a more premium feeling interior, I just like the Bolt more. I like the look more and my Bolt is nearly fully loaded with all the bells and whistles compared to my Ioniq which was pretty basic. If I stuck with an Ioniq I'd have to get the base model and still spend more than I spent on my Bolt RS (~$32.5k OTD in SoCal).

I really appreciate the ambient lighting more than I thought I would. Being able to customize it is a bonus. Looks really good this time around, whereas it felt more subtle in my last Bolt. The sunroof is great and really opens the car open and makes it feel bigger. Car is a joy to get around in and park in small spaces. The Ioniq is not huge, but the Bolt still feels way easier to maneuver. The seats in the new Bolt feel just fine to me and I have no issues.

I purchased a J1772 adapter (Lectron ~$40) and have used it a few times. I will probably pick up a CCS adapter at some point too. I haven't charged at a Tesla charger yet. I did get the windows tinted and that really helped with heat in the car. Even got some clear tint on the sunroof to block some heat.

Let's talk about the infotainment and dreaded lack of CarPlay. I'm a long time iPhone user and have used CarPlay in my vehicles for many years. I mainly use it for Apple Music and Navigation (via Apple Maps). I was nervous about losing CarPlay, but not a dealbreaker like it is to some. I have to say, I've gotten by just fine. I just hook up my iPhone via Bluetooth and say "Hey Siri play _______" and it streams my Apple Music flawless via voice command. For maps, I just say "Hey Google directions to ___________" and it uses the built in Google Maps to guide me to my destination. I prefer Apple Maps, but this works just fine. So with a combo of Hey Siri and Hey Google, it does everything I need. I can still yell at Siri to send messages also, but I don't do that often.

With all the positive things said, the biggest negative so far is the sound system. It's downright dreadful. It's slightly better when using the built in infotainment, but for some reason my car doesn't have the Apple Music app installed yet and it's not available in the Play Store. Streaming from Bluetooth gets the job done, but the speakers in this car are just bad. I guess it's not the end of the world because I love the car so much, but wish they were better. I might look into replacing some speakers at some point depending on how much work it is and how much of an improvement I'd see. If anyone has any recommendations, I'm all ears.

The dealer I bought from allowed me to use my GM Rewards Card to pay for $5,000 of the purchase, so I'll pick up some accessories if they ever give me my points. Website shows I earned the points, but they aren't available yet. I'll either get nicer floor mats or maybe the cargo cover (but almost $200 for a cargo cover???).

Happy to answer any questions anyone might have!

Back in the Bolt Club!

I previously had a bolt before leasing an Ioniq 5, but I’m happy to be back. Picked up this Blue RS with Sunroof and Tech Package in SoCal. A few days ago I wasn’t seeing any deals much below MSRP, but found this “Memorial Day Sale” and managed to get it for $6,750 below MSRP. $1,000 of that was a Costco discount, and $500 was for using my GM Rewards card. My sales tax is very high (10.75%), so my OTD was $32,800.

They also let me put $5k on my gm rewards card, so if I’m calculating correctly I’ll get $350 back to spend on accessories or something. No clue what I’ll pick up. Any suggestions?

I think I got a great deal, but the “haggling” that went on today probably took some time off my life. They tried adding some UV something or other, and other accessories. I had to almost walk out twice, but eventually they gave me the deal with no add ons. They did push hard, but I stuck to my plan.

One question: Why in the world was my seat vibrating on the way home? Lol

Picking up 2027 RS tomorrow

I am picking up a fancy Blue 2027 RS w/ sunroof and tech package tomorrow. Any accessories from Chevy worth picking up? I think I'll definitely want a J1172 and CCS adapter but where is the best place to pick those up? Any other accessories anyone pick up?

I'm coming from a 2024 Ioniq 5 lease. Was a nice car but happy to be back with bolt. Previously had a 2019 from 2019 to 2024.

EUV launch edition package?

I'm looking at an EUV with the launch edition package and trying to make sure I understand everything the launch edition included. Is it super cruise package (expired though), sun & sound package (moonroof, Bose system), and different wheels. Anything else I'm missing? And does it have any special badging or anything for launch edition?

On a side note, is anyone paying for super cruise and actually enjoying it? I'm in the Los Angeles area if that matters.

Anyone looking to trade in/sell in SoCal?

I’m looking for a bolt or bolt euv. Figured I’d check here before beginning the dreadful task of contacting dealers with used bolts.

I’m open to all years, models, etc just looking for something to use for the next year or so. Have cash ready to go. So if anyone is considering trading in near SoCal in hit me up and we can definitely work out something better than the dealer would offer.

Open to everything up to around $20k ish, including those older lower priced bolts too.

I put down my deposit on day 1 but don't think I plan on getting the launch edition. I know we won't know for sure yet how this will work but wondering if anyone has any guesses based on previous launches? At what point will they say I need to buy or cancel my reservation?

My term is up in 2 months so i called to set up an inspection to get an estimate on damage before turning in. Wanted to decide if I should fix myself or just let hyundai fix it. They referred me to a third party.

Third party said the earliest they can inspect is 6 days before my term is up. Called hyundai and said, thats the only method so they can offer no help. Told me to just assess the damage myself.

What a useless service this inspection is if its not available until a few days before turn in. Anyone else had issues or have any suggestions? Guess I'll just fix it on my own to avoid the uncertain. But what's stopping them from saying it wasn't fixed to their liking and charging me anyway?

Ordered the regular black HS420 (not VGPU). Questions:

  1. Do I need a gpu support in the horizontal orientation? And will it reach? I can't tell if it's designed for vertical, horizontal or either. I noticed the black one isn't in stock unfortunately so I may have to buy a white one if needed to get by. Using a 5080 prime GPU.

  2. I'm considering the angled fan bracket at the bottom just because I like the way it looks. Is there any downside to this in horizontal GPU mode?

Originally thought P14 Pro, then realized they are 27mm so a bit too big. Looking for some good, somewhat affordable (since I want 8) RGB 140mm x 25mm fans.
