"Fighting Animal Testing" merch

Hey y'all! I saw someone asking about the "Fighting Animal Testing" makeup bags on here. So I asked my manager if I could make a post. As far as we are aware they are still available for the time being but due to limited supply and space a lot of stores have stopped carrying them in person. But we still have a few at the Little Rock location in Arkansas!!! I'm currently searching for all the stuff we have in the back to make sure but we have a few on the floor as well as the matching totes (that come in black, pink, orange, and green)

Anyone know whats been up with trash and recycling over by S Taylor?

Ok so I noticed that the trash and recycling doesn't run super consistently over in this area. I moved over here in April and this is the third time my trash has sat for almost a month. I have triple checked that my bins are in the correct spot. They are not over flowing or messy but definitely full. I always make sure the lids are able to close fully. But it's to the point that I have multiple bags of trash and recycling waiting to be taken out because there's no more room. I've called to ask what's going on but either get hung up on or put on hold for like 20 minutes.

I have seen the trucks skip full sections of my area and just drive by without stopping as well.

I'm just really frustrated because this isn't really something that can be skipped repeatedly like this. We pay to have our trash picked up and it feels like money wasted or a scam at this point.

Am I missing something or being a Karen?

AI SLOP in the art museum. Rant from an art lover and artist.

My fiancee took me to the Fine Arts Museum on a surprise date last week and I just gotta talk about it. The museum is one of my favorite places on earth and I always feel so at peace and connected when I'm surrounded by the beauty of so many different people and their lives. I could sit in front of Andromeda or Dos Mujeres and Paris (fuck Diego Rivera tho he wasn't a good person at all) all day and still find new things to love.

But while we were walking I noticed they were playing something in their "movie room", as I like to call it. I didn't look at the blurb about the piece or artist because I like to get a feel for a piece on my own before I read about it and see if I come close to what the artist was going for.

I walk in and sit down. There's beautiful music playing. The lights are dim. There's ocean scenery in front of me. Then I noticed it. The underwater wreckage is completely disproportionate. The lines don't match up. The "animals" are at best wobbly misshapen lumps floating around. The lighting is weird in a way I can't describe. Like the highlights and shadows don't match at all. Some of the animals are changing in size and shape rapidly with no rhyme or reason.

I take a few beats until it hits me, I'm staring at a generated AI ocean scene.

I immediately stand and go to read the blurb, already pissed off. Turns out this is "Aftermaths", "created" by Matt Collishaw.

This guy used generative AI to create a post apocalypse ocean scenario to make a statement on the dangers AI poses to our environment and ecosystems.

I find it ironic that he uses the very thing he is supposed to be protesting and bringing awareness to.

This is completely AI generated, with so much detail, and 7 minutes long, so I have questions.

Hey Matt, how long did it take for the AI to get your vision Just right? How many prompts did you use and discard? How many gallons of water did your "art" use up? How ignorant do you have to be to not see the irony of "your" piece. Because I find it laughable that this can pass as art. Less than 30 steps away from some of the greatest and most impactful artists of all time. That spot should have gone to someone who actually created something instead of AI SLOP.

And to the Fine Arts Museum, how Dare you? How dare you put this in your space. To allow something like this is a slap in the face to every single artist who has fought to be recognized. Every artist who has ever dreamed of having a spot at your location. Every artist whose work hangs on your walls.

It truly breaks my heart to see this. How art, something innately human and unique, is being degraded and watered down. How we are allowing it and at this point encouraging it.

I'm disappointed.

Someone on our porch.

We have already called nonemergency services and taken proper precautions.

Around 15 minutes ago we heard someone on our porch and it sounded like they were trying to get into our house. We tried to check our cameras but , Surprise! It was dead. After waiting a few minutes we opened the door and tried to see if anyone was there, with protection in hand. Someone (sounded like an older woman to me but I'm not sure) across the street started yelling and saying they were sick and needed ice water and help. I know this may sound cruel and paranoid but we immediately shut and locked the door to call nonemergency for a well fair check. We are waiting for an officer to do a drive by and contact us.

Has anyone else around the S Taylor area heard or seen anything like this tonight? I feel really bad about not going out to help but also, it's past 10pm, dark, and I have no idea who is out there.

I've also grown up hearing horror stories from family who are cops about burglars and people with bad intentions trying to lure people outside. Again that may be a bit paranoid but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Brun Henna Dye?

Ok so I just tried the Brun Henna Dye/treatment and I already hate it. I have no idea if I used it properly but I followed the video from the QR code on the back exactly so idk if it was me or the product. But as soon as it touched my hair it started to crumble and dry out. It crumbled literally all over my bathroom, didn't stick to my hair hardly at all and started to smell off, even tho it smelled fine in the bowl. I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt and letting it sit for the recommended 2 hours but I honestly don't know. I still have half a brick of it but I'm not sure I'll use it now.

Has anyone had this experience or did I just royally fuck this up?

Also does anyone have any tips for me? I really want to like this and get away from regular hair dyes because they're so damaging and I want to protect my curls.

Thanks in advance.

My sweet girl apparently forgot how to eat

Update: Topaz seems to be completely fine. She got her food down perfectly after that fiasco. I'd also like to thank everyone who commented and confirmed that she's most likely just not in possession of her singular brain cell at the moment. I tend to be a bit anxious over her care and well being, probably a bit more than I should be, after some health scares caused by my irresponsible ex. I tend to forget that she is in fact just a dumb little noodle at times.

Context:

Ok so my sweet sweet dumbass Topaz apparently forgot how to eat. I've honestly never seen her struggle this much with a mouse before(frozen/thawed). It's taken her almost 10 minutes just to get to it's butt (idk why she loves ass so much but I don't judge) and she also decided the mouse needed a bath in her water dish. At one point they were both fully submerged and she just stared at me like she was asking for help.

I tried helping because it looked like the foot was stuck but she just balled up on it and dragged it back to her water dish. These are the same size she's been on for at least 2 months so I'm sure it's not a size issue(medium mice). She's still stuck on the foot and my gf is currently trying to maneuver the foot in a way that will go down. My fear is that this might put her under stress and I'm scared she'll throw up or something.

Now it's been like 25 minutes and she's finally looking like she has it right since gf was able to get the foot moved.

Question:

So I guess after rambling for a bit, my question is, do I need to remove the feet from now on even tho she's never struggled like this before? Or is there something I've been doing wrong? I usually thaw them to a "living temp" and then feed it to her straight from the bag. She usually gets it on the first try and has never really been a picky eater, which I've been told is unusual but good for a ballie. (In the year I've had her she's only ever turned down 2 mice. She has only thrown up once after my idiot ex turned her heat up way too high after being told to leave it alone.)

Pics for tax

Hey y'all! I recently realized that I have gotten sick almost every single time I have eaten at a specific location of Tacos For Life here. I've talked to a few friends and they have also gotten sick or just "feel icky" (as one put it) from this spot. Have any of y'all noticed a difference in locations or is this a company wide issue? I'm not sure if this is a slight cross contamination issue or something more serious. I just feel that their food is way too expensive to be making me sick almost every time I've tried it. Thanks in advance!
