Is it still a good field to get into? If yes, what should I learn first, and which courses/resources would you recommend?

I have completed my BCA and I am going to pursue an MCA, so I have around 2 years to build my skills and prepare for a career.
I currently have experience with the MERN stack, but I’m concerned about the competition in web development and don’t want to limit myself to one technology or domain. I’m completely open to learning something new.
Some people have suggested DevOps, .NET/ASP.NET, Java, cybersecurity, cloud, data/AI, and other fields.
For someone with a MERN background, which career path would you recommend in 2026 that has good long-term demand, stability, and decent career opportunities?
If you were in my position with these 2 years, what would you learn and why?
I’d really appreciate honest advice from people already working in these fields, especially regarding what has good potential in the long term.

Hey guys,
Need some advice regarding MCA admissions at Lachoo College. We wrapped up our final BCA semester about two months ago, but I’ve got 1 backlog in Maths sitting all the way from my 1st sem.
A few teachers earlier mentioned that the college usually holds a special ATKT exam, but now they're saying it might not happen this time around. A bunch of my friends are in the exact same boat and we're kind of stuck.
Is there any chance of securing provisional admission for MCA with one pending backlog? If anyone has dealt with this before or knows who to speak with in the admin/management office to figure this out, please drop a comment or DM.
