Micronation server looking for mods
The Tsardom of Nolland is a micronation established in 2012, and we're looking for (unpaid) Discord server moderators.
We are looking for our moderator to be 18+. There's no pressure to get involved in wider micronational life (although we won't turn that down!) we're mainly after support running bots and someone to get involved in the off-topic conversation channels to keep the server ticking over.
A micronation is a community based around the shared project of creating a nation. Think of it as a creative and political hobby, a group of people who have decided, for fun and for the love of it, to build something that looks and feels like a country.
We claim territory (the homes of some of our citizens, who have agreed to this) and we pass laws. We aspire to have a Parliament with elections, and we are developing a culture and national symbols. None are recognised by the United Nations or by established world governments, and some micronationalists have no interest in that kind of recognition. The point is the project itself.
Nolland is not a hardcore secessionist movement - by getting involved you wouldn't be advocating for civil disobedience or refusing to pay your taxes. Instead, you'd be getting involved in a group of people looking to develop a shared culture, with elections, a legislature, a court system and a conlang.
Nolland had something of a halcyon period in the late 2010s/early 2020, with a functioning parliament, multiple political parties, a military, and an active diplomatic community. The aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic took its toll and activity wound down in late 2020. We are now in the process of a restoration, rebuilding our institutions, welcoming back old citizens, and finding new ones.
