[SOTC] Just enjoying the hobby !

Hey everyone!

I wanted to share my current SOTC after a few years into this hobby. As you can see, I’ve been all over the place - from Chinese watches to Seiko mods and everything in between.

Right now, I’m in the middle of a "downsizing to upgrade" phase, slowly selling off some pieces to elevate the quality of my box.. I’m currently eyeing a Longines HydroConquest as my next purchase :)

I know Seiko mods can be a polarizing topic, but I honestly hold them close to my heart. They really helped me dive deeper into this rabbit hole! Today, the ones left in my box are only those that truly tell a story with me. I might let some go in the future though, as I'm aiming to not go higher than 18 watches (I'm down to 16 now from the 23 I used to have!).

You might also notice the total lack of a dress watch. Since I rarely attend formal events and my daily style is pretty sporty, I just haven't felt the need. I know a Bambino will probably join the the box at some point, but for one reason or another, it always gets pushed down the wishlist.

A couple of highlights..
- My favorite is the Sinn.. i really love german watches!
- In second place i would say is the Seiko Mod in the second position. It's been through a lot with me and has serious wrist time under its belt
- The white TimeForce is untouchable.. I rarely wear it nowadays, but it belonged to my dad. I inherited it 11 years ago and wore it daily for years before I officially started collecting. It's never leaving the box.

To get the discussion going.. What would you recommend I add next? Or is there any piece here you think I should let go of to make some room? Let me know your thoughts!

[Question] how readable is it?

So I’m considering buying the Glycine GL0475.

My only concern is readability. I already own a few watches, and this one would just be part of a rotation, so I wouldn’t be wearing it daily. Because of that, I’m worried it might take me a bit too long to read the time quickly when I do wear it..

I might be completely wrong though, so I’d really appreciate opinions from anyone who owns this watch, has owned it, or has something similar :)

Thanks!

[Question] Help me find a watch like this pls!

So I really like this Englemaan. I mean, I like the Sinn too, obviously, but they don’t offer a white dial option.

I finally decided to pull the trigger on this one, only to find out they seem to be going through some kind of rebrand, and now I can’t buy it anymore. My fault for taking too long — I’ve been thinking about getting this watch since February.

Can you guys help me find something similar?

What I’m looking for:

  • White dial
  • Arabic numerals
  • Bracelet or strap, doesn’t matter
  • Bezel insert or no insert, also doesn’t matter

Budget is around $1,000 max. I’m totally fine buying second-hand (that’s what I usually do anyway), so that opens things up a bit.

I’m also open to Chinese, Swiss, German, or Japanese watches — basically anything. Just throw your best suggestions at me, regardless of country of origin or retail price.

Thanks!!

[Question] help me choose the strap

I recently got this lovely used Seiko tortoise SRPG17J1 at a fair price !

I'm a rubber strap guy.. so as soon as I got it , I knew I will change its leather strap to something more comfy (for me)

Im between these two options.. green or black. I really like both.. Can you help me decide ? I know the decision is mine but I would like some opinions

Thank you!

New build from spare parts

I made this Seiko mod using parts that were left over from different builds I've done over time. I think it turned out pretty well! What do you think?
