my friend's story (her pov):

I dated someone for more than 3yrs, 4 na dapat. I didn't have access to any of his social media accounts and he didn't have access to mine as well. as we both believed that privacy in a relationship was a must and that our personal business didn't have to mix since we were still just dating.

I really didn't expect na he would cheat since he wasn't a person that posted every week, just every few months. and each time he posted, it was either my face or how much he "loved" his gf. his profile picture for his 2 fb and ig accounts was a picture of me and him, his bio always contained my name.

we never had any se*ual intercourse nor did we ever exchange explicit pictures. he asked twice on different occasions and on each I never agreed to since I come from a religious household. I was never interested in doing anything se*ual, even kissing/making out, I never agreed to.

one day, I noticed that his replies came very later, like late at night or very early in the morning (1-2am). he became very inconsistent, from meeting every weekends to go to church to not even seeing eachother for 2 months. I approached him through chat, he reassured me and even gave his accounts even when I didn't ask just to ease my suspicions. our relationship got a bit better and we started meeting every 2 weeks nalang.

on our 3rd year and 4mo celebration we were together with our family, after not seeing eachother and barely any contact for 3 weeks. I was holding his phone whilst he was cooking with my father. a message popped up in his notifications, I shouldn't have opened his phone but I did and it was the best decision I ever made. a message from discord telling him "dan may HIV ako. sorry ngayon ko lang nalaman". my world collapsed then and there. I didn't approach him, I just stood there until my tears eventually escaped my eyes and his sister finally noticed me. I showed her the phone, she approached him whilst my father listened.

papa rushed to me and held me in his arms while my ex's parents berated him infront of both our family members. since that day I have broke every contact with him and his family members. he has tried to apologize and I never accepted it. his parents and siblings did the same and I accepted it since they did treat me like family and they were never aware.

Idk since when he had been hooking up with that girl or how many other people he had touched I prefer not to ever find out. it gives me peace that I am clueless about his s*x life and I hope he got infected with HIV.

I'm a minor and in need of glasses, lol. my family is currently facing financial problems (like always) and my eyesight has been getting worse. I can't read and function properly (especially in classes and nighttime) due to myopia and astigmatism. my mother was recently rushed to the hospital, we've covered the bills we still have some food to eat. but I am in desperate need of pocket money and glasses since we can't afford it at the moment.
