Vax Platinum SmartWash Pet - Hose not spraying, but passes "pen test" & "blow test". What to do?
I’m struggling with my Vax Platinum SmartWash Pet-Design carpet cleaner. The upholstery/accessory hose refuses to dispense water or cleaning solution.
I’ve tested so far:
- The "Pen Test"): When I unplug the hose, turn the machine on, and gently depress the tiny solution valve inside the machine's front port with a pen, water and solution squirt out perfectly. This confirms my pump, tanks, and internal valves are working 100%.
- The Hose is clear (The "Blow Test"): If I blow air into the small solution connector plug on the machine-end of the hose and pull the handle trigger, air flows freely out of the nozzle end. This proves the internal tube is completely unblocked and the trigger mechanism is physically opening the valve.
The Problem: Despite both parts working individually, when I plug the hose into the machine and pull the trigger, absolutely nothing sprays.
It seems like when the hose connector is "clicked" in, it isn't physically reaching or depressing the machine's internal spring valve deeply enough to trigger the fluid flow.
