Is the machine washable claim on rugs actually true or is it marketing?

I bought a washable rug six months ago as a skeptic because ruggable burned me with delamination before. I washed it once a month on cold and tumble dry low, it's a total of six to eight cycles total. Plus, the pile recovery is surprisingly good, color retention is excellent, backing grip still holds and shrink is minimal at about a quarter inch. I guess machine-washable is real if you buy the right one

Excessive dirt after carpet cleaning?

I had my carpets professionally steam cleaned yesterday and ran my robot vacuum over those same areas today. Is this a normal amount of dirt to have come up 24 hours after hot water extraction in 4 rooms? The carpet itself looks fine but I would’ve thought all this would’ve been picked up.

Bad experience with carpet cleaning company in London - stains still there, is this normal?

I recently hired a carpet cleaning company in London. They came and did the job, but after they left, the stains were still clearly visible.

I contacted them and they said they don’t think they can do anything more and are not willing to come back.

I’m attaching a photo for reference.

Is this normal in the industry?
Can stains like this usually be removed, or are some just permanent no matter what?

Just trying to understand if I should push back or accept it.

carpet not drying

i had a small 5x5 area of my carpet cleaned yesterday at 7:30 pm and it’s still damp at 2:35. i knocked a coffee off of my desk and he had to go over it multiple times but it still wouldn’t come out fully. anyways, everything online says 6-12 hours. and i’m worried bc it’s been 19. yesterday i left all windows opened to get airflow in but i live in san diego and it’s like 68% humidity, plus my room is north facing and gets no sun so i stopped that. i left the ceiling fan on over night and have the A/C currently running. i live in a high rise so im sure it’s synthetic carpet over concrete. i reached out asking if i should be concerned for mold and he said no he used a chemical that kills mold, but he can come back and do an extraction. will that speed up drying? online says an extraction after overwetting won’t help.

Stain?

Trying to figure out if this is a stain I can get out. We had our grandmother’s carpet cleaned and after a lot of dirt was removed they said that there was this pinkish/lavender stain there and they tried to remove it but wasn’t sure if it was caused by some previous company or if my grandma potentially used some sort of chemical in the past (and eventually it browned because of dirt. That particular area WAS covered originally by a rug of nearly the exact same color as the rest of the carpet but she doesn’t remember anymore)

Any idea what this would be? I’m hoping it’s not from bleaching and that there might be a way to treat it.

Not getting new carpet, plz help!

Howdy!

This carpet is a 1.5 years old. I never intended on having this light color carpet, it’s a nice carpet and the guy had extra and I paid for builder grade. I have babies and pets so I knew whatever carpet I get will be destroyed. I have it in 3 rooms. There’s a no shoe rule but unfortunately it was not respected in this room before it became a nursery.

I will be getting a rug regardless. It has been pro cleaned and looks a lot better but wondering if there’s anything to make it look BETTER?!

No smell just tainted.

Vax Platinum SmartWash Pet - Hose not spraying, but passes "pen test" & "blow test". What to do?

I’m struggling with my Vax Platinum SmartWash Pet-Design carpet cleaner. The upholstery/accessory hose refuses to dispense water or cleaning solution.

I’ve tested so far:

  • The "Pen Test"): When I unplug the hose, turn the machine on, and gently depress the tiny solution valve inside the machine's front port with a pen, water and solution squirt out perfectly. This confirms my pump, tanks, and internal valves are working 100%.
  • The Hose is clear (The "Blow Test"): If I blow air into the small solution connector plug on the machine-end of the hose and pull the handle trigger, air flows freely out of the nozzle end. This proves the internal tube is completely unblocked and the trigger mechanism is physically opening the valve.

The Problem: Despite both parts working individually, when I plug the hose into the machine and pull the trigger, absolutely nothing sprays.

It seems like when the hose connector is "clicked" in, it isn't physically reaching or depressing the machine's internal spring valve deeply enough to trigger the fluid flow.
