Lawson backed lewis into max. He was 0.429sec slower on the lap max overtook lewis

Hungary:
Lawson did a 1:26.918 on lap 12. His engineer then told him to switch to strat 3 right as lewis was exiting the pits. Lawson then proceeded to do a 1:27:111 on lap 13 and on the next lap with lewis behind him, he did a 1:27.540. On that same lap, max came out of the pits 2.2seconds behind lawson and by the exit of the final corner, he was a few car lengths behind him...

First of all, there's no way lawson lost 0.429seconds on the final corner alone when he let hamilton through and second, how do you lose 0.722sec in within 3 laps when you'd consistently been setting late 1.26s from lap 2 up until lewis exited the pits?🤔

Austria was even more obivious:
- Linblad did a 1:13.975 on the previous lap. When lewis got behind him he did a 1:14.394, on the lap lewis passed him he did a 1:14.920 and the next lap he did a 1:14:016.

- Lawson did a 1:13:875 on the previous lap. When lewis got behind him he did a 1:14:092, on the lap lewis passed him he did a 1:15:098 and then pitted on the next lap. And right after lewis passed lawson, RB pitted max.

In both races, the drivers are a pitstop behind fighting a driver who just pitted🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Lewis got a penalty for 0.1km/h while sainz and alonso get away with ignoring 13 and 23 blue flags🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Lewis 5sec penalty:
- 0.1km/h violation

Sainz 5sec penalty:
- Ignored 13 blue flags impeeding piastri
- Engineer warned him about alonso being under blue flags from piastri right before T1 overtake from alonso
- He caused a collision
- Forced driver off the track
- Almost ended one of the leading drivers race

Alonso ZERO penalties:
- Impeeding piastri by ignoring a total of 23 blue flags between him battling with sainz and then proceeding to stay ahead of piastri for almost a full lap.

I've seen comments saying rules are rules...Which is fine.

My question is, if it's rules are rules, why does a 0.1km/h violation get highlighted but two drivers impeeding and ruining another drivers race is ignored?

Coz sainz only got a penalty for the collision, not ignoring blue flags and impeeding piastri.

Ya'll gotta quit the whining and complaining, P2 is a FANTASTIC result!

It was a great drive limited by useless regulations!
Ferrari will be upgrading the turbos during the summer break which will give them much needed topspeed. Till then, lewis is doing the best he can with what he got.

Let's see what happens when tyre management and strategy comes into play tomorrow.

How Ferrari’s dialogue with the FIA counters Mercedes’ disputed diffuser

'The fight at the front of Formula 1 is increasingly becoming a contest of engineering innovation, and Ferrari appears determined not to leave any opportunity unexplored. As Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc continue to push the SF-26 closer to the front of the grid, the Maranello-based team has been engaged in extensive discussions with the FIA regarding technical interpretations that could influence the next phase of development.

At the center of the latest debate is a diffuser concept introduced by Mercedes during the Canadian Grand Prix weekend. The solution, featuring extensions along the upper edge of the diffuser to improve airflow extraction and aerodynamic efficiency, immediately attracted attention throughout the paddock.

What made the situation particularly interesting was the fact that Ferrari had reportedly investigated a similar concept months earlier during the winter development phase. At the time, however, the interpretation was not accepted under the existing regulatory framework, forcing Ferrari’s engineers to explore alternative directions.

The emergence of a comparable solution on the Mercedes W17 naturally triggered further analysis inside Maranello and prompted the team to seek additional clarification from the FIA.' Full article on website...
