Atera Valley or White Birch UFA?

Guys, I am literally desperate, cos I cannot make a choice between those two. Usually, I am pretty much clear on what I want or what suits me better, but in case of those new incoming releases I am at a loss. My long time dream was White Birch and I almost preordered one, but after careful reviewing what's currently available on the Internet about the watch, I concluded that the new UFA White Birch has way more white dial than the original release had. The original colour was white/sliver, so the dial pattern was nicely contrasting. But now they made it "whiter", so one cannot see that gorgeous dial clearly. So I switched my interest into Atera Valley and was happy for the moment, but now, I see that the dial is sort of glossy and reflecting with the case, producing even more "steel presence". Besides the colour is close to my The Citizen (green washi) , so very similar.

So, confused, shite.

I would love it if they released the Night Birch with UFA, but instead it is still the hi-beat, ughh...

Any advice, please?

Don't tell me "buy what you like more", because that's what I am trying to do ...😛

News at 9

Guys, Grand Seiko Boutique (Ginza, 7 Chome-9-16 Ginza,) does have Shunbun on stock. I was just there and.... I didn't buy it. I didn't, because the Taisetsu was way more appealing to me, so I ended up buying just that one.

In all fairness, I wanted to buy Ice Forest UFA ( the movement is really something else!) but sadly that piece was too small for my wrist and looked weird when I put it on my hand. Why they went to 37 mm with it, is anyone's guess, but with its overwhelming case "substance", the dial disappears. Also the dial pattern is too "regular" for me.

Of course I wanted the Shunbun as well. But when I saw a Shunbun and Taisetsu next to each other, my heart fell for the second one. It's beautiful. And more pronounced than Shunbun. So, now, 3, 2, 1...go, run there and grab it and thank me later!1🤪

Update: I seriously have buyer's remorse. I look at my new The Citizen and Taisetsu, and fvck, I love the Citizen way more! It's classier, the dial is killer, it has more functions and feels much more comfortable than GS. But I am probably the first and last time in my life in Japan, so I had to get both.

Let's do some trolling...

I was planning to get a GS, visited a couple of stores in Tokyo and got quite disappointed either by the staff, who couldn't be bothered ( with one honourable exception in GS boutique) or by the sheer "non-availability" of anything interesting on the most popular stores running GS. However I also very much wanted to buy meself one of The Citizens and after careful consideration and obvious non -availability of the AQ4100-65M, I bought the next best thing. And it is a stunning piece, the washi paper dial can easily compete with GS, the polishing is outstanding, 100 m WR, eco- drive, perpetual calendar, adjustable hour hand, (when time zone changes) all in titanium for a fraction of the GS prices.

Some time ago, there was a video comparing quartz GS with The Citizen and I have voted for the Citizen. Today I support my preferences with actual purchase about which I am absolutely happy. Ladies and gentlemen, here it is The Citizen AQ4091-56W

A little help needed

Dear GS enthusiasts, I need a bit of help from more experienced buyers. I will be in Japan in June and that is my first (and probably last) trip to this country. Of course, I want to purchase Grand Seiko watch and I am busy with reading/watching/learning about brand pros and cons and everything in between. I already have one of them, the "Soko" model (unavailable in Europe, but I somehow managed to get it) and now it's the time to have the "real" experience. I have extensively researched all possible choices and it narrows down to either the SLGB003, or SBGA413 (almost too popular) or SLGB005G, which was sort of limited edition last year. My point is that I wish to have the most accurate movement, with breathtaking dial and sort of "unique" appeal. I battled with myself whether to allocate my funds to Glashutte PanoReserve or GS UFA. Both are of similar prices in Europe, but obviously the situation changes if you buy GS in Japan. All of the sudden the price is halved and things start to look more appealing. If I could, I probably would buy the "Violet Dawn", point is whether it is available in Japan at all, does anyone know? I don't care if it is steel bracelet or it doesn't have the micro adjustments, I have big wrist, it doesn't "shrink", i never had any need for such feature. Besides, one can always use a strap.

I also don't care about JP tourist tax refund, this is negligible in comparison to what the EU ADs ask for new watch here.

I am saying all that, because perhaps someone have seen other, equally innovative and interesting model of GS, and if so, would you mind sharing where I could buy it?

Thanks a lot for help!
