Because HLE won MSI: the 4th seed of the LCK is qualified into the main Swiss stage of Worlds.

The play-ins this year consists of: LCP 3, LEC 3, LCS 3, LPL 4.

Double elim bracket, where in Round 3 there is a qualification match. Where 1 team qualifies to the main bracket.

So worst case scenario for the 2 LEC teams. Could there be 4 teams from the LCK, 3 from LPL 3 (+1 IF LPL 4 wins the play-ins) and 2 teams from LCS and 2 teams from LCP.

I need to vent. You may see this as rage bait. You may be right. It is definitely a rant.

Legend Group and Rise Group or Group Ascend and Group Nirvana makes League more enjoyable to watch.

It creates higher quality games and the teams gets higher quality games on stage compared to a top team beating the breaks of s lower tier team. Sure, there could be upsets. Those are fun! But this happens so seldom that it is not worth it for the general viewing experience.

You may argue that: But nobody would watch the LEC Rise Group.

True. You are indeed correct. This is something teams have to realize because for me is it the team and the players job to make me interested in their journey. If they are all INTING and they have no pedigree to make up for it, am I only watching it because it is funny to point and laugh and them INTING.

ORRRR am I watching these lower powered teams either A) watch a top team Penta kill farm against them B) am I waiting for the once in a blue moon upset

Neither is good for the general scene.

It is better for the general scene if the top teams play against each other and get good practice on stage, as iron sharpens iron and those teams gets good practise against each other. This leads to they have to lock in more than when they play against a team in total shambles. Thus leading to better games for the audience and hopefully better performance at Internationals.

If l lower tier teams are having more even games against each other would I argue that this is better talent development. Like if you are top performer on a Rise Group team and then performs well in the playoffs has this risen that players stock going into the next season.

Because right now are we in a G2 vs KC waiting room. We are even in a KC vs Koi waiting room.

(And no, I don't think this is a fault of the format per say, because the LEC needed the Road Shows to make the LEC more hype)
