Jrwi obsession
salutations jrwi fans. I was wondering if it is possible and if it is bad to be ‘obsessed’ with jrwi. I have audhd and am an infj-T so I get hyper obsessed with very niche small things, or rather the idea of them. I only discovered JRWI this year after following charlie on YouTube for a while, and it’d become my entire personality even though I have no one to talk about it with and I sound like a nerd (ha I am what’s wrong with that Gen Z’s) when I talk about ‘my favourite DnD podcast’. my sister commented that I am unhealthily obsessed with JRWI, and I can agree on some level as I’ve spent this entire year, almost every day (unless at school) listening to one of their campaigns, on my headphones, quietly, not talking to anybody.
i also have spent some money (not a lot, i dont have a membership or anything) and WEEKS of time on art materials for homemade merch, because I made a racing hoodie based on Wonderlust especially troy Lougferd, because Wonderlust is my favourite campaign, a large model Destinys Blade, and a riptide tricorn, and my family is getting concerned
if jrwi is my escape from the unsavoury aspects of humanity, and jrwi is how I have explored my identity and gender and have made me more confident in that, is it unhealthy to be listening to it every day and laughing and spending money on something I enjoy that (unless online) nobody really knows about?
similar to Charlie (you should watch the Shut Up I’m Talking interview) dnd and this podcast is my escape from reality. Should I continue listening to it, ignoring my family’s concerns? she was quite rude about it, or should I take a hiatus and stop listening to it for the first year of high school?
