Jrwi obsession

salutations jrwi fans. I was wondering if it is possible and if it is bad to be ‘obsessed’ with jrwi. I have audhd and am an infj-T so I get hyper obsessed with very niche small things, or rather the idea of them. I only discovered JRWI this year after following charlie on YouTube for a while, and it’d become my entire personality even though I have no one to talk about it with and I sound like a nerd (ha I am what’s wrong with that Gen Z’s) when I talk about ‘my favourite DnD podcast’. my sister commented that I am unhealthily obsessed with JRWI, and I can agree on some level as I’ve spent this entire year, almost every day (unless at school) listening to one of their campaigns, on my headphones, quietly, not talking to anybody.

i also have spent some money (not a lot, i dont have a membership or anything) and WEEKS of time on art materials for homemade merch, because I made a racing hoodie based on Wonderlust especially troy Lougferd, because Wonderlust is my favourite campaign, a large model Destinys Blade, and a riptide tricorn, and my family is getting concerned

if jrwi is my escape from the unsavoury aspects of humanity, and jrwi is how I have explored my identity and gender and have made me more confident in that, is it unhealthy to be listening to it every day and laughing and spending money on something I enjoy that (unless online) nobody really knows about?

similar to Charlie (you should watch the Shut Up I’m Talking interview) dnd and this podcast is my escape from reality. Should I continue listening to it, ignoring my family’s concerns? she was quite rude about it, or should I take a hiatus and stop listening to it for the first year of high school?

Episode 101 was amazing

oh Lordy lord that was a fabulous episode we finally got Charlie! good job Gabriel. I think they had some wonderful things to say about social media and the impact of YouTube, and they are all so full of whimsy and fun as well as being quite intelligent. I feel as though all of them, especially Charlie, are such sweet guys who have far too much fame for their own good, even though their influence has inspired loads of people. I just want to note that if they ever see this, that all three of them have inspired me so much and also have made me more confident in my identity although its been hard, and also help me navigate the world better, their advice is top notch. Completely related, Charlie is one handsome lad, but still manages to have a wonderful personality. Shame jrwi took my straightness away but Charlie has enough fans to tell him he’s pretty. a wonderful episode to watch now that I’ve returned to beautiful Ireland. anybody else watch it?

Campaigns

yo jrwi I am finally caught up with riptide and now I have to wait 3 weeks for the next episode like the rest of you. should I begin to realisten to all 130 eps of riptide, not skipping the Black Rose pirates campaign this time, listen to blood in the bayou, or listen to total monster kill?

ive already listened to Wonderlust and it’s the best campaign they had but I haven’t forgotten the plotline so i cant relisten to that for a while. I don’t have a membership yet so can’t listen to pd or upp sadly

Soloing

wouldn’t it be amazing if there was a concert or jam of Lovejoy literally just straight jamming for an hour? I am in a jazz club, and I’ve seen the skill of all of the players of Lovejoy, and although will has a lovely voice I think it would be fun for them and for the audience and showcase all their skills if they did improvised solos over chord changea? I feel like they could do cissy strut, chameleon, and green onions so well, because the guitarists in this band are amazing, and mark is a VERY skilled drummer, and don’t forget Marcus who can play trumpet. what do you think? idk I just thought it could be fun if they did that

Riptide 116 spoilers maybe

wattup Reddit.

I am late to this fandom and I just finished ep 115 of riptide and didn’t have to wait 6 months for 116, but it is new. i think the animated intro is great, but I already really miss the improv intro with og songs and bits, and the electric guitar intro. also, I kind of miss the call format because it was kind of like four dudes who are best friends make funny bits and laugh and also happen to play dnd. And without the camera Charlie can’t do silly effects, nor can bizly shove the camera into his face. i love the new room and am happy that merch exists, and love all their haircuts (bizlys hair is so fluffy, charlie is slaying, grizzly looks downright beautiful, and condis hair is luxurious). I don’t know it kind of feels a bit commercial? new and rebranded, but will it still be the same as the 115 episodes of zoom call. was wodnering if anybody felt the same way as me. or if it changes and i shiuld just appreciate it and relisten when I get back up to date.

wonderlust still reigns supreme forever

Animation

yo if there are any animators out there I have some jrwi ideas. I have zero animation skills but adhd so ✨✨ ideas ✨✨

  1. animatic of the Riptide pirates but it’s to Ocean by Lemon Demon

  2. H.Y.C.Y.BH but it’s Troy Lougferd being annoying

  3. Navy by the Village people but it’s also Troy Lougferd dragging everybody around wonder (Especially the ’They want you, they want you, they want you as a new rectruit’ Part)

Pride

yooo just roll with it fans im at pride in San Diego and I saw a person who looked exactly like Grizzly. I’m so happy that there are lgbtqia+ relationships in the jrwi campaigns. what are everybody’s favourite ships and relationships in jrwi to celebrate pride?

Express Delivery is my favourite along with Fish and Chips.

Art Piece

Eyup Lovejoyners. Recently I just finished a project based on Lovejoy's and Anvil Cat's acoustic album From Studio Four. It took me a few months, and a lot of effort, and is based specifically on the song Tommorow - Acoustic. What do you think of the art piece? I really do hope the band sees this so they can see how amazing their songs are. It'd be so wonderful if they toured America again.
