William Wisp Model!

Made this for fun (and kind of as a gift for a friend)! If I feel the motivation later I may make silly models of the other characters as well! (both UPP and PD). There are definitely some tweaks I still have to make with the physics sensitivity, but other than that I am really proud of this :D!

Just starting, Any advice?

For context i’m a huge fan of D&D content. I’ve watched various series and podcast of ttrpgs like Dimension20, Dungeons and Daddies, Tabletop Time, The Encounter Table, SwordAF, etc. and I love all the members of JRWI but despite knowing about them for a while starting with a new show always feels a bit intimidating so I never got around to it. But recently I started watching some of the one shot youtube videos and I love the group dynamics and storytelling. But there are so many different campaigns and I don’t know where to start. Do you have a favourite campaign or maybe one that’s considered to be the fan favourite? I want something bingeable. What would you recommend?

Riptide Spellcasting Rules(Minor riptide 98 spoilers)

I noticed that in episode 98 charlie mentions using spell points to cast enhance ability and I was wondering if they have been using the variant spell point rules the entire campaign or if they swapped to it mid campaign? Or is it something else that gives him spell points?

Jrwi obsession

salutations jrwi fans. I was wondering if it is possible and if it is bad to be ‘obsessed’ with jrwi. I have audhd and am an infj-T so I get hyper obsessed with very niche small things, or rather the idea of them. I only discovered JRWI this year after following charlie on YouTube for a while, and it’d become my entire personality even though I have no one to talk about it with and I sound like a nerd (ha I am what’s wrong with that Gen Z’s) when I talk about ‘my favourite DnD podcast’. my sister commented that I am unhealthily obsessed with JRWI, and I can agree on some level as I’ve spent this entire year, almost every day (unless at school) listening to one of their campaigns, on my headphones, quietly, not talking to anybody.

i also have spent some money (not a lot, i dont have a membership or anything) and WEEKS of time on art materials for homemade merch, because I made a racing hoodie based on Wonderlust especially troy Lougferd, because Wonderlust is my favourite campaign, a large model Destinys Blade, and a riptide tricorn, and my family is getting concerned

if jrwi is my escape from the unsavoury aspects of humanity, and jrwi is how I have explored my identity and gender and have made me more confident in that, is it unhealthy to be listening to it every day and laughing and spending money on something I enjoy that (unless online) nobody really knows about?

similar to Charlie (you should watch the Shut Up I’m Talking interview) dnd and this podcast is my escape from reality. Should I continue listening to it, ignoring my family’s concerns? she was quite rude about it, or should I take a hiatus and stop listening to it for the first year of high school?

Starting Riptide

I have been a fan of Jrwi for over a year now and have listened to most of their campaigns and one shots. The main one I have never gotten into is riptide. I think it is due to it having so many episodes but whenever I try to start it I get stressed about how long it will take and give up. The new videos look really cool as I assume Milo is in it and I saw that Ranboo was in one recently. Is it possible to start at a later stage throughout the show and if so where is best to start.

Trading Cards

I was wondering if anyon’s trading cards had arrived yet? Or if people know when they are expected to ship? I might have missed an email about shipping so I was wondering if anyone had any insight.

Any info would be appreciated :D

Campaigns

yo jrwi I am finally caught up with riptide and now I have to wait 3 weeks for the next episode like the rest of you. should I begin to realisten to all 130 eps of riptide, not skipping the Black Rose pirates campaign this time, listen to blood in the bayou, or listen to total monster kill?

ive already listened to Wonderlust and it’s the best campaign they had but I haven’t forgotten the plotline so i cant relisten to that for a while. I don’t have a membership yet so can’t listen to pd or upp sadly

Riptide episode 88 question (riptide spoilers)

So i've been watching riptide trying to catch up and I've gotten to episode 88 which was an amazing episode however I feel like i've missed something because it feels like the whole Felipe plot was just glossed over? Weren't they going a sea mart to find him? Did they all just agree to not look for him anymore out of character so they could do the more serious stuff or did I miss something in an episode? I know the devil seemed to have done something to him but it didn't kill him did it?

(spoilers for the newest one shot) was anyone able to catch condi's first characters name?

I was convincing my friend to watch the new one shot and was telling them about some of the characters and I couldnt remember the name of the one who wanted to be in an AC/DC cover band so I skimmed through the first part of the episode and it didnt seem like he said it anywhere? I checked when they shred the sheets but on my phone I couldnt make out a name

Great idea for a one-shot episode: D&D without dice

Lots of the newest public episodes are various things like this to show off the cast and get new people into our funny little band of guys, I've always wanted to do this personally but never had the chance:

Instead of determining scores numerically, the players will have various other things which they need to interpret/argue with the DM on what kind of number/pass/fail/hit etc. they would get from their non-dice.

Ideas for not-dice include:

• mini slot machine

• Tarot cards

• random word generator

• Cards against humanity cards

• Magic 8-ball (technically there's a d20 in there but whatever)

I just think it would be so funny, and by hell could these guys make such a good episode out of this.

PLEASE if you have any other Non-Dice ideas lemme know.

What episode would you use to get someone into Riptide?

If you were able to convince a co-worker or classmate to give an hour or two to listen to Riptide, which episode would you pick?

Even if I did have the time to yap to this completely hypothetical coworker, I always feel like my explanations could never capture how fun and cool this campaign is. I remember listening to one of the first episodes back in the day, but it never really hooked my interest (it took my friend begging me to listen a couple years later). I feel like I need one gold standard riptide episode to really get them obsessed, even if they're a little confused.

What are your thoughts? Would you emphasize plot, or character dynamics? Old or new? Drama or silly factor? Avoid spoilers? Use the culmination of a whole arc? Would you use a different campaign episode entirely? I'd love to know.

!!Be aware of potential spoilers in the comments!!

Finished watching Wonderlust and felt compelled to do this [Fanart]

If you're wondering, Blink is on his knees to do the group pose.

A few riptide memes I drew (no spoilers)

Recently got back into this campaign and felt compelled to draw for it LOL
I bet you can’t guess who my favourite is……

Question about episode "We Played D&D's Worst Rated Dungeon"

[Spoilers for this episode follow]

At several points, like when Divine Sense is used, Charlie says

> You get the sense that this is a consecrated place. Maybe Acerak is actually of good alignment? What a puzzle!

Where is this from? Is this part of the original module? It would be on brand, since Tomb of Horrors contains a bunch of rules to stop specific class features from working. Maybe Acerak has made some way to confuse Divine Sense.

On the other hand, it might be a homebrew change. I noticed that Charlie changed the way that damage works in the popcorn ceiling rooms to keep the game moving. Maybe he changed this too, and Acerak really does have good alignment in this one shot. But then why does he live in this evil tomb?

why no more art thumbnails?

does anyone know why they haven't been doing art thumbnails for the Riptide Reboot and in general? it's always been so lovely to see that cooperation between artists and the podcast but there haven't been any for the recent episodes which I find kinda sad.
at least the MrBeast style thumbnails are gone lmao

hope everyone is having a good day :)
