I want to paint the models, is all. I can see a starter set or two going on Ebay though those models are already printed. Is there somewhere to get the bases and other components at this stage in the game's post-life?

I’m really interested in learning programming and I’ve had this old tome kicking around my garage since about 2010. Found it yesterday and wondered if it’s not likely to be useful as a starting place due to ‘age’ any advice?

I'm pretty sure this is more applicable to the base game, but I'm certain the mod changes some things up that might affect this too.

I can't understand how benefits from characters are applied in the game.

Skills, Ancillaries and Traits are all things that give bonuses. I'm most interested in the ones that grant faction bonuses, not battle bonuses. So extra food, public order, tax rate and so on.

Most of these work for the local province. So they provide the bonuses to whatever province the general is in.

My question is this: how does that work between generals and politicans? AKA, a character leading an army you can move around on the map, and a politician who you can't affect?

If I have a top tier general who is buffing the hell out of my faction, does it make more sense to take him off command so he can provide bonuses more generally?

But politicians also have a location which always seems to be the capital. So is that actually a bad idea? Furthermore, are politicans just a waste of a character? After all they can't rank up if they aren't leading an army.

I'd like to understand this aspect of characters better so that I can use them more efficiently.
