Hi everyone, hope you're all doing well!

Does anyone know where I can learn effective takedown techniques for Buhurt (like Judo throws adapted for armor)?

It can be YouTube channels, books, instructional videos, or any other resources you recommend.

Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, hope you’re doing well!

Would anyone be kind enough to share images, sources, or links showing historical decorations for Spoleto bascinets/helmets?

I want to decorate my helmet for reenactment and exhibitions, but I also fight in Buhurt. I was thinking of adding feathers/plumes that can be easily removed when it’s time to fight.

Any references, advice, or DIY mounting ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hello Reddit people! Quick question:

does anyone know where I can get templates or documents for medieval armor and weapon construction? Or any useful resources to learn more about dueling and Buhurt?

I’m also really into 14th and 15th-century clothing, so if you have any idea where I can find patterns to make my own gear, I’d love to know.

I have experience working with both steel and textiles, which is why I’m looking to dive into this.

Thanks!

Building my own Corazzina/Brigandine (Mild Steel). Need advice on thickness and design!

Hi everyone! I'm new to the sport and I'm starting to build my own armor. I was wondering if you could give me some recommendations.

I want to make a corazzina/brigandine like this (acordate de adjuntar la foto), but I don't know how reliable it is for withstanding heavy hits in the list. Besides the armor's durability, I'd also like to know how well this setup will actually protect my body, considering I'll be wearing a gambeson and adding high-impact foam (trauma padding) underneath the plates.

I'm making it with mild steel, 1.5mm thick on the overlapping plates and 2mm thick on the main chest plate.

(I'm building it myself because I have experience in metalworking, and in my country, it's really difficult for a young guy on a tight budget to buy custom armor from overseas). Any advice is appreciated!
