Unsure if I should get my first piercing

I have no piercings. I want to get my lobes pierced and I feel that’s a very tame first and probably only piercing to get.

I’ve talked to a few family members who have/had their lobes pierced and I’ve gotten mixed info and advice.

My aunt said she loved having hers pierced and never had any issues with them. Hers fully healed and she is still able to wear earrings if she wants to (though she hasn’t for a long time).

My cousin has 2 lobe piercings and a nose piercing. She has had the same experience as my aunt but said the holes smell which isn’t a big issue for me as long as I’m able to wash the smell away.

My mom got hers pierced and she said hers always leaked and to this day gets crusties that come out of her piercing holes. She said she wished she never got hers pierced.

With these mixed experiences I’m not sure if I should get them pierced. I’ve been thinking about it for a couple of years now but only seriously started considering it when I found a pair of earrings I LOVED and bought them (I included a pic of them).

Anyway, I’d love to piece my ears to be able to accessorize more, but if I’m going to have a poor experience I’m not sure it’s right for me.

Anyway advice or experiences to share would be appreciated!

I’ve barely used Snapchat, is this guy I snap with into me?

I’ve had Snapchat for almost 3 years, didn’t get it till I was out of high school. I don’t really know how Snapchat works, like if people are just being friendly or if it can ‘mean something’.

I (F21) finished up my classes a couple of weeks ago. The day classes ended I got added to a class group chat. I added everyone from the group chat and one of the people that added me back is a guy (M22) I was mildly interested in for a few months. We didn’t talk much over our two year program but when we did it was fun and I found that we have a lot of common interests and values.

So, he snapped me first. I snapped back of course, and we have snapped consistently back and forth through out the day since then.

The pics started out with funny filters, but they eventually turned into pics of him in bed or at the gym (not shirtless pics unless it’s just his shoulders that I can see). Some are out with his friends and family. I’ve been kinda matching the energy of his pics.

We have had some small conversations over the past few weeks, but nothing that is on going for more than I couple of hours. But I noticed that when the conversation is coming to an end he doesn’t just like my message, he sends stickers and we do that back and forth for a bit. And once the conversation ends we sends a snap back to keep the back and forth going throughout the day.

Basically my question is: Is everything he’s doing through Snapchat just him being friendly or is it something else?

Before this I didn’t use Snapchat more than once a day to send my daily streaks, so I’m not really sure what’s considered normal/friendly.

AND something that probably matters. I had a thing with his friends for a couple of months last year that didn’t work out, so I don’t know if that matters.

Please be nice, looking for genuine advice on if this is more than him just being friendly <3
