Best fish to target in November?

Fishing my whole life, fairly new to surf fishing though. I’ve always gone for blackfish and seabass in November from a boat. I was wondering if there’s any particular species to target off the surf that time of year or is it really just stripers and blues? For reference I’m in central NJ. Thanks in advance

Surf fishing tips/advice?

Hey all, been fishing for many years now. I’ve typically always fished from a boat or a pier. Oddly enough, I’ve never fished the surf before. As of late it’s been interesting me more, and I’d like to target the fall striper run from the surf this year. I was wondering if anyone had any particular tips or tricks of the trade to share, or even recommended surf locations (I’m in central NJ). My setup is on the shorter side but still doable i think, 8’ med heavy ugly stik big water with a shimano nexave 5000 spinner. Any advice or tips is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Anyone else having trouble with largemouth?

I’ve been fishing sunrise and sunset through the summer into the fall (central New Jersey mainly). All bank/dock fishing. I’ve literally caught one bass. I get blow ups on frogs, hits on a senko, I’m using spinners and chatter baits, etc., fishing lakes, ponds, reservoirs, you get the idea. But as of late i feel like i just can’t catch fish. I’m self aware that i change lures too often while fishing, but being conscious of that I’ve focused on fixing that issue. Definitely getting a bit discouraged. Anyone else feel like the lmb game is lacking this year or am i just getting worse at fishing lol

Lakes vs Ponds?

At the moment I’m a bank/dock fisherman. I do have plans to buy a vessel of some sort but that’s not for this discussion lol. For all the bank anglers out there, do you prefer to target ponds or lakes for largemouth bass? I’ve heard mixed reviews on the topic, and personally i don’t really have a preference. I just want to land fish at the end of the day. If anyone has any input or opinion on which they like better or their personal experiences comparing the two, that would be great! Thanks in advance for any advice!

When do you know it’s time for a bass boat/kayak/vessel

Fish pretty often, normal blue collar guy. Bank fishing is fine and relaxing but sometimes i look out at the water and think of all the missed opportunities because im limited to this one heavily overfished bank or dock section. Is it becoming time to get a vessel? I’ll never become bored of fishing, but I’m getting frustrated with the limitations i guess.

Edit: Definitely didn’t expect this post to gain the traction it did lol, but thank you all for your insight and opinions, it’s much appreciated. Will absolutely be looking into some of these suggestions and brands mentioned. Thanks again to all! Keep those lines tight 🎣

Bank fishing spots for bass/pickerel near Middlesex County?

Hey everyone, I’m in the Middlesex County area and looking for some good public freshwater spots.

I fish strictly from the bank—no boat or kayak—and I’m mainly targeting largemouth bass and pickerel. I usually throw 5-inch Senkos, chatterbaits, inline spinners, and topwater frogs when the conditions are right.
I’m looking for ponds, small lakes, reservoirs, anything with fish lol.

I’m familiar with a few nearby places already, but I’d really appreciate recommendations for overlooked spots around Old Bridge, Sayreville, South Brunswick, Monroe, East Brunswick, or the wider Middlesex County area.

Thanks in advance for even reading this!
